ELEVATED RISK OF FIRE SPREAD TODAY...Dry weather, sunshine, humidity levels between 15 and 25 percent and northwest winds occasionally gusting to around 20 mph are expected today across portions of Central New York and Northeast Pennsylvania. All of these parameters and increasingly dry fuel moisture levels support an elevated risk of fire spread, especially during the afternoon and early evening. Use caution if handling any potential ignition source, including machinery, cigarettes, and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread quickly. For more information about wildfire danger, burn restrictions, and wildfire prevention and education, please visit your state forestry or environmental protection website.

American Electric LLC wants to wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday. As most of you have heard, we have had a fire at our office in Lake Hunt...ington last night November 25 around 6 PM. As we as a family are devastated of what we have lost, we know we will get through this with the help of family, friends, and a strong community. We cannot express how grateful we are to Lake Huntington Fire Department for their quick response. We also want to thank White Lake, Callicoon, Kenoza lake, Lava, and Jeffersonville fire departments for their quick actions as well. Our company and family are overwhelmed with the amount of support and care we have received from local businesses and our community to help in any way they can. Even with this setback, we are open for business and are continuing our daily routines as normal. Once again, we would like to thank the entire community that came to our aid last night. This evening(11/25/20) shortly after 17:30 the White Lake Fire Company was dispatched for a full response to assist the Lake Huntington Fire Company at a Workin...g Structure Fire! White Lake firefighters along with Callicoon firefighters made a very aggressive interior attack on the 2nd floor while 2 more white lake firefighters pushed in the rear of the first floor. The coordinated effort of all interior and exterior operations helped quickly control the fire. Unfortunately there was extensive damage to a local buisness and good friends to many of us! We wish the best to the entire American Electric family! White Lake units on scene were 35-1,2,3 35-12, 35-21, 35-11, 35-51, and 35-62! Great Job by all involved tonight.
