This young woman was beyond remarkable. Poised, elegant, fascinating to watch and her words were so appropriate and touching. I’ve read some of the posts about the political climate in this country. Both sides equally represented. Nothing can change if we do not share opinions on both sides, we need to listen and try to comprehend each other. Tough conversation is ok, it’s actually necessary. Those tough conversations do not need to be disrespectful or hurtful to each othe...r. Not every single person who voted for President Trump is bad or wants to overturn the government. Not all democrats are evil and want to steal Elections. We should all want our country to succeed and we should all want our President to be successful. When that happens, we all win. The division and the hate will not propel us forward, de-friending someone because they share a different opinion than yours only hurts you not them. Being in an inclusive circle with people that share only your opinions will not advance healing. It hinders the progress we need to make. Peoples opinions can and should be shared, listen, really listen. Try to comprehend where they are coming from. Process what needs to be processed ans move on. You may learn something, you may even begin to understand them a little better. They are people, they are human. We all deserve respect and kindness. Like this young woman said yesterday, words matter. Today is a new day, a new opportunity. Choose your words carefully.. choose kindness, choose to be the best version of yourself you can be. You may inspire someone else to do the same.. that can make the world a better place and then you can be part of that light.. change can be a good thing if you choose to see it.
