Today's Friday Feel Good: We are grateful to have partners in the community such as LiDestri. They recently donated an additional 20 gallons of hand sanitizer to us. A friend in need is a friend indeed!

To celebrate the holidays, Jewish Senior Life gave each of our employees a Visa gift card, a cloth face mask with the Jewish Senior Life logo, and a copy of the Beyond Chicken Soup cookbook. This popular cookbook has a special connection to our organization, as it was compiled by the Jewish Home Auxiliary. We are grateful to our employees for their hard work throughout this challenging year. We wish you a happy holiday season!

Jewish Senior Life is proud to support JCC CenterStage in the virtual play, Gloria: A Life, about Gloria Steinem and the women’s movement, featuring local professional actors. Each dynamic performance is followed by an audience-interactive talking circle" led by a variety of local leaders. Jewish Senior Life Board Chair Dr. Margot Weinberg will participate in the talking circle tomorrow night, Thursday, October 22. We hope you will join the conversation!

Working with an experienced and close-knit team of heath care professionals, the RN provides professional nursing services, health counseling and teaching to ADHC members, in accordance to care plan and RN Health Care Coordinator. The RN works closely with ADHC Social Worker t...o coordinate health care services in the community. Requirements: Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing. Current New York Registered Professional Nurse license. Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice. Ability to work within a team of health care professionals. Ability to work with the elderly and knowledge of geriatrics, gerontology and adult day care. Community health experience is a plus. Training in rehabilitative and other remedial therapies desirable.

We are so happy to announce that Marian's House is once again open to guests, with new safety protocols in place. Marian’s House is a daytime retreat for people with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s and other related dementias. Our guests enjoy meals, activities, supervision and specialized programming in a residential setting. The ideal Nurse Manager candidate will have at least two (2) years of clinical experience with individuals with neurobehavioral disorders, two (2) years of clinical experience with individuals with dementia, and three (3) years of clinical experience in long-term nursing care (acute care acceptable). Our Friday feel-good! Lillian, a resident at The Summit at Brighton, celebrated her 85th birthday last week in grand style! Her original birthday wish was to spend the day with her daughter, touring her old neighborhood. But due to COVID restrictions, her daughter could not travel to the U.S. from her home in the Middle East. Enter Living Well Companion Care’s Viola: Viola has been Lillian’s companion for three years and knew how important this birthday wish was to Lillian. Viola planned for a limousine to take Lillian and a few close friends for a luxury ride around to see all the special places from Lillian’s life and finished the day with a lunch at one of Lillian’s favorite restaurants. Thank you Viola for making Lillian’s day so special! And Lillian, we hope you had a wonderful birthday!
