It is opening day for Major League Baseball. Every player is full of optimism that his team will win the World Series this year. What a wonderful day for baseball fans - hopeful that this is the year his/her team goes all the way. 7am this morning WALK FM Radio featured the GET A VOICE FOUNDATION, INC. a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) pubic charity on the ISLAND ASSIGNMENT Show hosted by Donna Vaughan. Dr. Laurie Mandel, the Founder of GAV and I were interviewed about the mission of GAV.... to stop social cruelty/bullying in schools by changing the culture in schools through language. What a wonderful 2 weeks. The "30 Seconds to Success" seminar on March 13th was well received by all of those who attended. The other panelists, Jim Werner, Scott Martella and Gina Sansivero, and our moderator, Jim McGowan, gave outstanding presentations. Athough the title was "30 Seconds To Success" my part of the presentation involved the importance of following up that initial meeting by building relationships and being authentic. In fact, one person who attended that semi...nar also attended the "Importance of Your Personal Brand and Your Business" seminar I gave with Laney Liner at the Women's Innovative Network Meeting on March 20th. Although we anticipated 20 to 25 to attend, over 30 attended making it a huge success. The Q & A was very engaging with many asking great questions. At that event Laney and I launched the name of our Strategic Alliance, which is now called... "THE JOE & LANEY TEAM" ( age before beauty ). Finally, as further evidence that Long Island is becoming "Short Island", last evening while at a fundraiser for the Eaton's Neck Youth Center, I unexpectedly met a few of the attendees from the WIN seminar and friends from the MOMS WHO KICK public charity. It was nice to see not-for-profits supporting not-for-profits. See more
