Dear patients, neighbors, and friends, Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same, our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s ...both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and team: Our office will communicate with you beforehand instructions before your appointment. You will be asked to fill out an online Wellness Form (found on a link in the pop-up on our website: www.glencove-dentist.com, and submit this form as close to your appointment time as possible. If you have any difficulty filling or submitting this form online, we will provide you with one to fill out when you arrive. Upon entry (with a mask on, please), we have an automatic hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use. Your temperature will also be taken and recorded. You may notice that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines. Appointments will be scheduled to allow for social distancing between patients. We may ask you to wait in your car until the patient scheduled before you has left. If you live locally, we may call you to let you know when to start heading over to our office, especially if there is a delay. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 516-671-0817 or visit our website: www.glencove-dentist.com. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends. Sincerely, Dr. Gaeta, Kim, Karen, Saby, and Jules

We hope our patients and their families are doing well and staying healthy. In the meantime... How to Take Care of Your Dental Health While Having to Self-Quarantine Due to COVID-19, people are warned to isolate themselves or to self-quarantine. During this time, people should take care of their physical health, boost their immune system, remain mindful of their mental health, and practice good habits to promote dental health.... This is also the perfect time to educate the kids about good dental habits like flossing and brushing their teeth. The truth is that it is uncertain when things would be back to normal and when everyone will have access to all dental services, so parents must ensure that their kids take care of their teeth during this period. Of course, there is more to proper oral hygiene besides flossing and brushing one’s teeth. Here are some tips on how to take care of your oral health while having to self-quarantine: Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Make sure not to forget to brush your tongue to keep your whole mouth clean. Floss your teeth at least once every day. Gargle with mouth rinse to kill bacteria and remove plaque. Avoid eating and drinking sweet food and beverages. Drink plenty of water to wash away acids from your mouth. Although it is incredibly important to take care of your physical and mental health during these trying times, you should also take care of your oral health while having to self-quarantine. Don’t hesitate to contact us via email at [email protected], if you have any questions. Stay safe!

All of us here at Dr. Gaeta's office are thinking of our patients, and their families... In light of the Coronavirus, it’s important to let you know that we are taking every precaution and taking extra measures to ensure a healthy office environment. We are still open, and as a small, one-dentist practice, we will remain open as long as it’s safe. The health and well-being of our team, and patients are our top priority. As part of our commitment to your safety, we are careful...ly monitoring the evolving Coronavirus situation and taking precautions proactively. Stay healthy and safe! Dr. Gaeta, Kim, Karen, Saby, Peggy, Brittany, and Jules Please see the below precautionary practices: Wash hands frequently. Wash hands thoroughly and often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or with a 60% alcohol-based rub, to kill any viruses on your hands. Hand dryers alone are not effective at killing COVID-19. Avoid touching your face. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands, as any virus on hands from a touched surface can enter the body through the eyes, nose or mouth, according to current information. Maintain social distance. Keep a distance of at least 3 feet between you and apparently healthy persons and stay 6 feet away if a person is coughing or sneezing (WHO 2020). Limit contact. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you’re sick with respiratory symptoms like a fever, runny nose and/or cough, stay home. Seek medical advice if your condition worsens with a high fever and/or difficulty breathing. Cough into an elbow or a tissue. Cover coughs with a tissue or cough into an elbow. Dispose of tissues immediately in a covered bin and wash hands with warm, soapy water. Wash clothing into which you cough. It is unknown how long the virus can live on hard and soft surfaces. According to the WHO, coronaviruses may survive on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. The best way to ensure that surfaces you touch are germ-free is to clean them with a disinfectant.
