With nearly 85,000 square feet to work with, the Vox build was a great opportunity for an exciting challenge. Gallin delivered on a grand scale. The design team at Gensler had ambitious plans to customize the space at 85 Broad Street to the unique needs of a media giant: five recording studios, ten broadcast/editing suites, a 1,000 square foot IT Room, plus a café large enough to handle even the busiest midtown Manhattan lunch rush. The multiple conference rooms, break areas,... and bench style workstations are illuminated by a sophisticated lighting package which includes over 40 different types of fixtures, more than half which were custom made expressly for Vox. It was a privilege to be entrusted with the build-out for Snaidero Cucine's NYC location, a home design brand known worldwide for its timeless beauty. The Gallin team knew going in that the 5,000 square foot showroom for this luxury brand of high-end Italian kitchens and cabinetry needed to be impeccable. The concept created by MKDA called for exposed painted ceilings, poured concrete floors and a generous use of glass. Custom stone walls, bold columns and high-end millwork p...rovided just the right mix of industrial edge and elegance. The result is a modern, understated setting that perfectly showcases Snaidero’s sophisticated fixtures. As we celebrate 135 years in this business, we reflect on how architectural style has evolved over the years. From the ornate designs of the late 1880s to the spare, modern aesthetic of today, one thing has remained constant, and that is Gallin’s emphasis on craftsmanship. This space at 58th street exemplifies that beautifully. 2021 marks the 10-year anniversary of Brittany Gallin at John Gallin & Son. She’s accomplished a lot in a decade, rising from Assistant Project Manager to Project Manager in only four years. In 2016, she joined the Estimating & Purchasing team where she combines her PM experience with her organizational skills to draw up detailed, competitive bids that help bring in new accounts. Her construction knowledge, relationships with architects and engineers, and teaming up with the right subcontractors ensures the entire scope of work will be covered. Brittany is 5th generation Gallin she’s proud to be continuing the tradition of family at John Gallin & Son. #funfactfriday Gallin’s had several clients at 25 Broadway, including its current namesake Standard & Poors. The building’s distinctive H shape is a result of the Zoning Resolution of 1916. These regulations were passed in response to the city’s growing skyscrapers which were crowding out the sky. From its breathtaking views of lower Manhattan to its crisp, cool, modern design, the offices of this international financial firm are truly impressive. Designed by TPG Architecture to span two floors, the handsome space features a central staircase of glass and polished steel, 457 workstations, several multi-purpose open areas, and a variety of inviting pantries and kitchens. A great deal of time and attention were given to the sophisticated tech and teleconferencing needs... required to connect the New York location to the firm’s headquarters in Europe. Gallin was able to execute the complex 55,000 square foot build-out in phases, with minimal disruption and maximum uptime for the firm.
