Business owners - an important read. The SBA is again open for EIDL grant applications related to the Covid19 economic disaster. Traditionally, these grants are up to $10,000. In April, the SBA limited these to $1,000 per employee. The SBA quickly ran out of appropriations for non-agricultural businesses.... In applying for the grant, the business is also applying for consideration for a 30 year SBA economic injury loan. You can keep the grant without taking the loan. However, the loan is for 30 years at 3.75%, with payments deferred for the first 12 months. These are unprecedented times. Traitionally we think of the SBA and disasters in the context of a regional natural disaster. The President's delcaration earlier this year makes the entire country a disaster area and all businesses are therefore eligible for these grants loans. If you are a sole proprietor, freelancer, or own a business organized as an LLC or corporation, you likely qualify. The SBA made this process very straighforward. Feel free to reach out to me for any assistance. I reccomend you apply for this grant today. Quick notes: 1. Have your business banking information available when you apply 2. As proof of identity, the SBA will do a soft inquiry into your credit report. House Democrats introduced a $3 trillion bill today which includes additional stimulus to US taxpayers; an extension of the $600/week PUA into Janaury 2021, $1 trillion to states and a host of other things. We are watching it and will release a webinar when the Seante passes it and if the President signs it. Earliest date I see the webinar is next Wednesday.
