May you have a blessed and happy Ramadan!
It was a privilege to participate in today’s celebration of #NationalBorinqueneersDay at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park. The day recognizes the bravery, service, and sacrifice of the 65th Infantry Regiment, a U.S. Army regiment comprised mostly of Puerto Rican soldiers, who served in both World Wars and the Korean War. A beautiful ceremony was held to honor local Borinqueneers Juan Negron, who was in attendance today, and Juan Alejandro, Santos Lamberty, Manuel Rodriguez-Medina, Agustin Pucho Olivencia Sr., Jose A. Santos-Rolon, Heriberto Rivera-Soto, Carlos M. Graulau, Eusebio Martinez-Miranda, and Carmelo Lopez-Febus.

Thank you Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski for taking swift action to address this issue near the Marine Drive Apartments. As Howard Johnson for Erie County Legislator said, "Team work makes the dream work!"
Thank you Friends Of Broderick Park for all you do to promote awareness for Broderick Park, a historic stop along the Underground Railroad, and for keeping it beautiful.
The state budget restores and increases funding for transportation and infrastructure in order to improve traffic safety and create good-paying jobs.

The pandemic has been especially difficult for educators and students and truly exposed the many inequalities in our education system. The Assembly Majority fought for a state budget that includes a historic investment in our children's futures.
Refugees have a social and economic impact on our region. It's important that they are supported as they integrate into the community.
