Dental tip of the day:Remember to stay hydrated to produce more saliva. The average size adult should be drinking 64oz. of water a day to keep well hydrated. If we become under hydrated, the body will stop saliva production to preserve water for life support functions. A dry mouth is much more likely to decay, so go and enjoy a tall glass of water!

Dental Tip of the Day: "Gum chewing's fine every once in a while. It stops you from smoking and brightens your smile..." Tho Oompa Loompas have got it right once again! The physical act of chewing increases salivary flow in the mouth: if chewed after eating the increased salivary flow can help neutralize and wash away acids that are produced when food is broken down by the bacteria in plaque on teeth. Keep it sugarless, and keep it in moderation, and you will live in happiness too....

Dental Tip of the Day: Flossing is instrumental in maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile. It helps remove the bacteria laden plaque that a toothbrush can't reach. If the plaque is not removed, it will harden into tartar, which builds up and causes gum disease-a leading cause of tooth loss. Simple preventative care such as flossing regularly can help ward off the tartar buildup and gum disease. Remember! You only need to floss the teeth you want to keep!

Dental tip of the Day:Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, energy drinks and fruit juices. These acids soften tooth material and dissolve minerals in tooth enamel, causing cavities and in some severe cases teeth may be eaten right down to the gum line. Preserve your teeth and enjoy a glass of water today!

Dental Tip of the Day: Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food. If you use them to crack nuts, remove bottle caps or rip open packages, the risk of chipping or even breaking your teeth is much higher. During these unprecedented times, break out your kitchen utensils, and use those teeth for smiling!

Dental Tip of the Day: Remember! Toothbrushes don't last forever! Generally, you should change your toothbrush every 4-6 months, sooner if you find that the bristles are fanning out from vigorous brushing. Brush twice a day to keep your smile bright and beautiful.Happy Friday!
