When Jon and Ashley had to change their wedding plans due to Covid they opted for a quaint and charming Inn along the Silverman River in Connecticut. Renting out the entire Inn for the weekend. Less than 20 friends and family gathered to relax, feast and celebrate Jon and Ashley. As Jon’s brother stated in his toast, I think this turned out even better, all of us here know and love each other so much and can truly be ourselves and celebrate these two. Their wedding was ful...l of raw and beautiful emotion from Ashley’s first look with her dad, the vows Jon and Ashley shared during their intimate ceremony to the toasts that were given later that evening by candlelight. These two are filled with passion, commitment and so much love for one another, every part of their day was a joy to capture. And I think the truly special part of these two is summed up so beautifully in Ashley’s vows to Jon, My love for you cannot be told completely in a few words. And I’ve come to realize that I don’t want to be able to tell you how much I love you because I want this marriage to be a commitment to always try to be better, to be more supportive, to be more thoughtful, more empathetic, more affectionate. I don’t want to be able to chronicle my love for you today because I intend to spend every day for the rest of my life reminding you how much I love you. COVID couldn’t steal Randall & Ellyn’s wedding day! These two are the definition of fun, easy-going and tenacious. After having to cancel their over 200 person wedding, they decided even if they had to scale it back they weren’t gonna let that stop them from their perfect wedding day! This weekend was a first for me! I was honored to capture both video and to photograph Gio and @dominiqueblythe’s gorgeous surprise wedding! It was a mad dash from start to finish, flicking my camera back and forth to capture both photos and video, driving down Hoboken streets standing out the sunroof of my car (while also 8 months pregnant ,) chasing these two into the sunset! Saturday was one hell of a way to kick off my wedding season! Did I say kick off? Yup! Saturday was the first wedding I have been able to shoot this year. It has been the most odd, off balance year that I can ever remember. Yet there has been so much joy, so much hope and celebration even in the midst of chaos, tragedy and uncertainty. And Saturday with Jon and Ashley proved to be just that, a beautiful celebration of love, commitment, family and friends. Their intimate wed...ding consisted of less than 20 of their closest friends and family in the backyard of a quaint Bed and Breakfast in Connecticut, and it was perfect in every way! Ps. This was the most charming Inn and Tavern I’ve ever seen and I am dragging my husband back here asap! The day called for thunderstorms. We watched the weather app all day only to be delighted as we got through, portraits, the ceremony and cocktail hour with not a single drop. Right as people were getting dismissed to the reception tent the skies opened and a flash flood ensued. As the wedding party darted from the mountain house to the tent for their introductions they dodged quickly forming puddles and strokes of nearby lighting. Then Jake and Edlyn’s grand entrance and firs...t dance. As they sashayed across the floor the flood damn was breached and the tent quickly flooded but did they stop dancing? Nope! They finished the whole song! As the band then had to quickly cut power so no one was electrocuted three of the members walked onto the dance floor with their instruments and voices and led the wedding reception in When the Saints Go Marching in a cappella. People jumped on the floor delighted by the surprise, Jake’s dad even took off his shoes, rolled up his pants and splashed around the floor. After we and the staff realized that the rain wasn’t stopping anytime soon the wedding reception got moved into the lobby and back porch area for the rest of the evening, but that did not stop the party for one minute! The incredible staff jumped into action, people ate dinner in every corner of the house, up the stairs. Toasts were done from the tops of tables and chairs and everyone danced the night away in front of the hearth, while the band played from the corner of the room. Initially I was so worried that Jake and Edlyn would be so disappointed with their rained out reception, but the two didn’t miss a beat and it seemed to give them a greater sense of energy and seizing the evening of celebration! Getting to film and celebration and a couple like these two was truly a treat! Reminding all of us that what truly matters is friends and family joining in celebration to watch two souls commit their forevers to one another, oh and dancing the night away!

Hey friends! We have some exciting news in the Joyce household! Baby boy Joyce will be joining the crew November 2020! We are so excited for this chapter. So many of our beautiful couples have already entered into parenthood or are actually pregnant along with us right now which is so much fun!! Even though Covid-19 is not want anyone wanted, especially as I work in the wedding industry and it has nearly derailed my whole season, I am trying to find the light in all of it. An...d the extra time with my husband Russ has definitely been welcomed. Our lives have slowed down...way down and we have had so much time to get excited, dream and make plans. Im choosing to look at this as very extended maternity leave but don’t worry I will be ready to hit the ground running come 2021!
