The owner of this Maduro Guitar opted for just a set up and cleaning of the Guitar without making any modifications to the saddle. These guitars have a high action with no truss rod. The saddle is made of wood and glued on to the bridge. I slightly deepened the saddle slots. Now to restring and see how she plays.

Next on my bench a Maduro parlor classical guitar from the 60’s. She’s in bad shape and needs some work.

Another happy customer. She sings after a top notch setup. Notice the shine. She was hand polished after a good cleaning and looks like new.

Guitar enthusiasts here is another example how you can make a good Guitar great. This Epiphone Les Paul Custom had a TUSQ nut installed and sized by hand, a set of Gotoh Magnum Locking Tuners and for looks a Hell’s Guitars Custom truss rod cover. The Guitar plays better and stays in tune better due to the new nut which is a lubricated material for better give to the string avoiding the pinching’ of strings which can cause the strings to go sharp or flat. TUSQ also improves t...one dramatically over the stock plastic nut. The Gotoh Magnum locking tuners not only give this Guitar a tuxedo look it helps keep the Guitar in tune and it makes for a fast string change! Call me to inquire about mods that will improve your Guitar without breaking the bank!

On my bench a Takamine acoustic with a smashed pre amp box. This caused the pre-amp to not make a solid connection and the sound was cutting off. But when I looked inside the entire plastic box was cracked everywhere. A little patience and glue and she’s back together. The guitar also got a SPA set-up and plays like a dream.

She’s ready for some playtime. 1960’s Maduro Parlor size Guitar. She got a set up and a good cleaning. When people ask why is that classical guitar restrings are so much more expensive, here’s why! The bridge string ties need to be tied correctly or the strings will slip causing tuning issues and possibly the string becoming loose. Plus nylon strings require stretching until they stabilize and stay in tune. It’s not as easy of a job as it seems.
