It is no secret that controversy is one of the biggest sellers and ironically, on the week of his book release, one of the most talked-about scandals is that of Relationship Coach Derrick Jaxn. Over the last few years, Derrick Jaxn has built his platform on promoting healthy relationships and preaching about self-love. He has written books, created games for building communication i...n relationships, and other pieces of merchandise, and has built a nice revenue off of his products and platform. Recently it has been discovered that he hasn't been practicing what he preaches and the internet has been in a frenzy. Yesterday Derrick Jaxn went on a live video with his wife and one of the biggest questions that people are asking is: where is his PR Team? After watching his video it is clear that he either has no team or if he does they didn't do a good job at responding to this crisis. He had his wife looking crazy and now she is the laughing stock of the internet. (If I was on his team I would have had his wife looking her absolute best.) When you have a platform as big as Derrick Jaxn's, or you are trying to build a brand as big as his, it is important to have a team in place to guide you through any PR crisis. Happy Tuesday Everyone. I am a lover of Reality TV and one of my favorite shows right now is Married At First Sight. The most talked-about couple on the show right now is Paige and Chris and if you haven't watched the show, their journey will have you on an emotional rollercoaster. Every week since the beginning I have sat and watched this journey unfold and even though I know this show is pre-taped, I pray to God that Paige would open her eyes and come out of the sunken pla...ce of this situationship. Well, my prayers were finally answered when Paige said This Relationship No Longer Serves Me. Paige handled this situation with so much grace and pause that after watching the episode I had to sit and ask myself are there any people or situations that I am attached to that aren't serving me at this point in my journey? One thing about being stuck in toxic situations is that it doesn't only have to come from a romantic relationship, but it can come from friendships, work environments, business partners, religious environments, and even family members. People and situations come into our lives for many reasons, but sometimes people and situations are only supposed to last for a season and not for a lifetime. If you are finding yourself in a place where you are constantly feeling drained, disrespected, feeling resentment, experiencing unhealthy patterns of communication, and feeling like everything is a constant battle then it might be time for you to assess that situation and move on because, in the end, you are only hurting yourself by staying in that situation. #marriedatfirstsight
