For those getting ready to draft for their service in the IDF, and who are motivated enough and interested in making it to the Special Forces, come join our uni...t: the Special Forces Counter Terror Unit and School and serve as a Counter Terrorism NCO. One of the most challenging units to serve in, one of the most difficult Qualification courses to go through, but absolutely one of the most rewarding service experiences you’ll have. As a Counter Terror Unit NCO you’ll have a qualification as a Counter Terror Instructor, Combat Special Operator, and a level R08 Command status. Unlike any of the other Special Units in the IDF, CTU NCO’s are fully qualified in every aspect of Counter Terror warfare including: -Hostage Rescue Operations in domestic and foreign territories -Active Terror Attack Intervention -High Risk Arrest Operations -Urban Warfare and CQB -Assault and Take-Over of airplanes, ships, trains, and buses -All weapon platforms (assault rifle/carbine, shotgun, Micro/mini-Uzi, handgun) -Krav Maga -and more. You’ll have the opportunity to join one of the Unit’s specialized teams including: -Counter Terror Assaulter (Hostage Rescue or Intervention) -Snipers -Breachers -High Angle Entry, Rescue, and Rappel -Tunnel warfare -White House (the IDF Chief of Staff Protection support team) The CTU functions as the sole school that trains and certifies all the IDF’s Counter Terror capabilities (training all the Special Forces Units as well as the Special Forces Units of many of the world’s allied nation militaires) as well as a fully operational Counter Terror Unit with both Peace Time and War Time designations. The Unit carries out a wide variety of missions inside and outside of Israel’s borders ranging from high risk arrest operations to holding 24/7 response to active terror attacks. Out of my 20+ plus years of professional career service in Military, Policing, and Security, my service in the IDF is definitely the segment that always stands ...out the most to me. Aside from having been able to serve as a defender of our only homeland on this planet, during my service I did things and accomplished things I never in my life imagined I would. Like every single IDF Special Forces hopeful, I spent countless time glued to the pages of the official Israeli Special Forces Database: isayeret.com. Gazing, studying, and absorbing everything on that website. This famous pic of myself and my fellow Counter Terror Unit NCO, A.G., was taken by New York Times Best Selling Author Steven Hartov who came to our base to do a write up on our unit for Special Operations Report Magazine. The photo became the cover pic for that SOR issue. This photo has also become the main page photo for isayeret.com for over a decade now and appears as one of the first images for a google search of Israeli Special Forces images. It’s an incredible feeling to see when passion and dedication end up somehow leaving a little piece of legacy.
