Got an email from NY State OK-ing personal care services in this phase of re-opening. For now KK Cosmetics is proceeding with caution, not open for biz 100% yet. I’ll keep you posted on re-opening. "Responsible Parties are prohibited from offering personal care services that may require customers to remove face coverings (e.g., face massage, facials, face waxing around lip or nose areas, face tattoos, facial makeup, cosmetic lip tattooing, lip or nose piercings, beard trimmi...ng or shaves), unless the employee is wearing a face shield or similar barrier in addition to their face covering. Further, any employee performing such services must be tested, at least once on or after September 3, 2020, for COVID-19 through a diagnostic test and receive a negative result prior to the employee performing services that require removal of a customer’s face covering." One week since NYC salons and spas ordered shutdown. All beauty retail stores closed too from Sephora to Fresh to major Dept. Stores. No touching your face precaution been going on for weeks already. No make-up artistry or Aesthetic facial services until further notice. For me not being able to practice my passion of make-up and skin care truly sucks but not as bad as being sick or in the hospital. Our industry of licensed professionals has always been on the front line of d...isinfection and sanitation and being responsible to uphold those practices as it is a matter of public health everyday, not just during the COVID-19 pandemic.
