Here's an update on the 3rd stimulus checks.

IRS will not begin accepting and processing tax returns until February 12th this year.

Additional PPP Loans are now available.

At Kania Accounting & Tax LLC, the health and safety of our clients, employees, and their families remains of primary importance. Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, Governor Cuomo has mandated that 75% of the non-essential in-office workforce must be decreased. We are abiding by this mandate. The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service have granted a 90-day extension until July 15, 2020 to pay any income tax owing without any penalties or interest ...accruing (https://www.irs.gov//payment-deadline-extended-to-july-15-). You are required to either file your tax return or an extension by April 15, 2020 to qualify for this relief. New York State (along with several other states) has not issued any guidance at this time. We will attempt to work to the best of our abilities to provide service through the April 15 deadline, and beyond as necessary. We highly encourage and recommend that our clients drop off, mail, or securely transfer all documentation in order for us to attempt to file tax returns in a timely fashion while ensuring the safety of all those involved. However, please contact us prior to coming to the office. As always, we will continue to be available to you through this uncertain time, via email and phone, and will attempt to meet your needs and deliver the service that you are accustomed to. We will keep you updated on all developments as we manage through these circumstances together. IRS has revised Form W-4 for payroll withholdings in 2020. Consider filling out a new W-4 if the new tax law made drastic changes to your tax returns or if you've had other changes in your life.
