Here's a better shot of that metallic, ancient looking Three Frog Bowl. The piece was a glazing experiment, reminds me of the style of work I would see in Mexico. It makes such a nice centerpiece, here on a Guatemalan table runner that I bought on a trip. The frog impression comes from a ceramic piece that I picked up in Costa Rica. (Travel!! Will we be able to do that again soon?) Anyhow, this Three Frog Bowl is 15" in diameter and 3" tall. Bundt cake on a reverse arc plate. A burst of spring! I work these designs from a shallow slab bowl, let it dry just the right amount, cut the arcs and reverse them. Well this should be fun-Maybe!? I goofed and made a few of these frog bowls in the wrong kind (firing temperature) of clay, so now I'm experimenting with the wrong kind of glaze, and we will see what happens! Fish are swimming around the frogs.
