Ordering is open for this Saturday for delivery! Don't forget we're also offering free local delivery to Dansville and have on farm pick up as an option as well! Hotch and Harper were helping Bryan bed down barns, giving our cattle fresh straw to stay warm and cozy. We've been enjoying the cooler weather; we've had picnics and hikes in the woods, I've been making beef roasts and soups like French onion, and have one of our chickens roasting in the oven right now. As we get c...loser to the holiday season we want to remind you that we have whole hams, both fresh and smoked (bone-in, skin-on), ranging in size from 4 lbs to 10 lbs each to suit your needs! If you're not a fan of ham, we have plenty of beef roasts, large roaster chickens, and other cuts of pork like Boston butt and pork shoulder too! To browse what we have to offer and place your order visit our website: https://katesfarmette.grazecart.com/

Last night I made one of my favorite dishes, pork crepinettes! They boast a surprising amount of flavor despite only requiring a few ingredients. Ground pork, your favorite seasoning (I used McCormick's Montreal steak seasoning this time), wrapped in veil (caul) fat. You can make these using just about any type of meat; ground lamb, beef, rabbit, chicken, turkey, etc. Season however you like and even add ingredients like spinach, tomato, or cheese. You can roast, grill, or ...saute crepinettes. As they cook the veil fat renders, adding a wonderful flavor. Below is a link to a how-to, as well as our website where you can order both our ground pork and veil fat to create your own at home! I paired ours with roasted brussels sprouts with bacon, and brown rice with sauteed mushrooms. It was a nice hot meal for the chilly day we had yesterday! https://honest-food.net/crepinettes-recipe-wild-boar/ We've also opened up ordering for deliveries for this Saturday, as well as on-farm pick up for the rest of the month. So get your orders in before Friday! https://katesfarmette.grazecart.com/store

Valley View Farmstead has been a dream for Laura Vogt for many years in the making. We are so pleased to be able to include Laura, her husband Jacob, and their two girls Paisley and Madeline and their products in our offerings. You can now add her handmade cows milk soaps to your order when you order for delivery from us! Right now we're including their soaps, but will be adding more throughout the season as they grow produce and flowers at their farmstead in Dansville. We'l...l be adding three new soaps to the website in the next few days in addition to what's available now. Jacob and Laura are good friends of ours and I'm so happy to watch their farm grow, they are such hard workers and have a passion for everything they do! If you want to stop by their farmstead and see what's available in their stand you can visit them at 8071 Groveland Station Road in Dansville or call Laura at 585-217-3050 to place an order. They offer fresh eggs, handmade wooden signs and stove covers, which they take custom orders for, and Laura offers baked goods on her Fresh Bake Fridays too! Here’s their story, as told by Laura; We moved from Rush to Sparta in September when I purchased my grandparents farm house. My grandfather John Hammond was a dairy farmer. The Hammond family were among the first settlers in Dansville in 1795. Land was eventually purchased in Sparta that my ancestors began to farm. This farm has been in our family since the early 1800’s. After my grandfather passed in 2005 I always hoped I could someday live on the farm and be like him. Reality set in when the farm was eventually sold to a local farmer. All that was left of generations of hard labor was their house. For years I continued to dream of buying the farm back, bringing life back to it and making it thrive again. Thanks to my husband, Jacob, my dreams are slowly coming true. He has always had a passion for farming and has farmed for friends since the age of 12. I have been a nurse for 10 years and Jacob a carpenter by trade. He is the brute force behind this adventure and he is the reason we are successful. We have 5 acres now with a variety of vegetables and wild berries, a beautiful 2 acre sunflower field and chickens for fresh eggs. We have 2 beautiful little girls, Paisley and Madeleine and they love to help us around the farm. Our goal is to eventually expand our farm and one day be able to make this silly dream of mine a beautiful full time reality for our family. You can shop their soaps on our Farm Good page of our website, and if you've signed up for our email newsletter you'll get updates throughout the season as more becomes available from their farm! https://katesfarmette.grazecart.com//produ/orange-rosemary
