Dear Tender Humans, During these extraordinary times, I have transitioned my acupuncture practice to virtual treatments! Two things about this: ... 1) YES. Telehealth for acupuncture! It has been remarkably effective! I lead my clients through acupressure treatments, qigong, breathwork, guided meditation/visualization, energy medicine, and my personal favorite (and the favorite of many clients), EFT / Emotional Freedom Technique. 2) STRESS & ANXIETY. Pretty much EVERYONE is going through some version of heightened stress and anxiety right now. The virtual sessions have been highly effective in helping my clients cope with increased levels of stress and anxiety. ALL of my clients seeking support for stress & anxiety have rebooked regular sessions with me over the past several weeks because they find the virtual techniques so helpful and practical. In the words of one client, "I wish everyone would just give the virtual sessions a chance. I have found these appointments so deeply reassuring during this time." If you or anyone you know could benefit from support, reach out. (DM me, email me, call me, text me, go to my website, you name it.) awakenedalignment.com [email protected]

Stress & Anxiety during the time of Covid19: *RELIEF is available!* Among all of the concerns that I have been treating virtually in my practice, the issues that come up over and over again are stress & anxiety. ... Here are some symptoms that patients commonly report: -Waking up with a sinking feeling in their chest or stomach. -Worry that they might be experiencing symptoms of coronavirus; hypervigilance of body sensations & processes. -Ruminating thoughts. -Feeling stressed out every time they hear or read the news. -Insomnia or dysregulated sleep patterns; disturbing dreams or nightmares. -Anxiety and fear when having to go outside, especially to the store or anywhere crowded; in general, feeling resistant to going outside, running errands, etc. -Tight chest. -Tight neck & shoulders, tight jaw. -Worry about their career or professional future. -Overwhelming concern about their children, parents, or other family members. -Difficulty navigating the uncertainty of the moment; generalized fear about the quarantine, what the world is going to look like in 2 weeks, 2 months, a year. -Feeling out of control or overwhelmed. -Feeling exhausted, unmotivated, or lacking access to their creativity. -Feeling irritable, impatient, or downright angry: often directed at their family or loved ones that they're quarantined with. If any of the above symptoms resonate*, know that relief is available, right now. Imagine finding more and more moments of quiet and equanimity. When you hear bad news, you don't descend into a spiral of ruminative worry. You sleep better, and feel more energetic & inspired during the day. You find it easier to get out of your apartment and accomplish your necessary errands. You have more patience with and bandwidth for your family. Your breathing deepens and slows. You feel like once again you have some agency in your life; and when things feel uncertain, you are able to roll with it. Overwhelm and hypervigilance quiet down into a calm awareness and presence. We are in precarious times, and there is a collective level of stress and anxiety that is unavoidable to some degree. However, your life does NOT need to be ruled or consumed by it. During virtual sessions, together we engage in highly effective treatment techniques --EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)/Tapping, acupressure, breathwork, qi gong, guided meditation / visualization, Chinese herbal medicine -- that enable you to break free from the cycle of stress & anxiety. You leave your session feeling calm and relaxed, clear-minded, and equipped with tools to employ on your own until we see each other again.
