Kathy's Fight

Mom had a nice shower and ready to relax. Doctors say that she should be able to come home tomorrow and that the chemotherapy is working and her air flow is better in her lungs. She walks a little bit further everyday, our goal is to get her using the nasal cannula only and being able to walk around again like normal. Keep us in your thoughts this fight is still very far from being over.

Mom came out of the surgery well and in good spirits. Happy birthday beautiful I knew you'd come out alright. Chemotherapy is about to start... I know she will come out of this alive and strong as well. The battle is far from over but we are here for you, you will fight this. She is laughing, and enjoying everyones company. The flowers are beautiful and to know that so many people care and love her really warms my heart. Love you all.

To update everyone... Mom will be staying in glens falls hospital T2 room 7. The doctors came in today and she told them that she wants to do the chemotherapy and fight... The surgery for the port will be tomorrow and chemotherapy will start on Wednesday which is her birthday... I ask of my friends and family to come and make her feel as loved and supported as possible... Come show her there are people that care and want her to fight through this. The best hours are in the m...orning... 8am to 1pm... She gets exhausted easily and needs to rest. They plan on keeping her in the hospital to monitor her first treatment and keep her hydrated and keep the antibiotics flowing. This is no where going to be easy, its going to be the hardest fight we've gone through yet but show her she can't give up. Keep us in your thoughts and prayer. Love you all. I want to thank everyone that showed up yo show our mother support, she feels very loved and very grateful to have so many people stand by her side and let her know that she is not alone. We love each an every one of you, you can tell by the smile on her face that she appreciated every bit of it and enjoyed herself, she needed a good wave of positivity and this was that. Now she's exhausted and resting up, can't thank you all enough for making this possible.

I want to properly update everyone on what has been going on since yesterday. I went to the ER with mom and after a long day of xrays and pet scans and blood testing and everything they could do... The doctor informed us that her cancer is so aggressive to the point that the keytruda treatment is unable to keep up and it has grown and the masses are larger. Devastating news as you could only imagine and a lot of tears were shared. Her doctor came down and gave her two choi...ces... The first choice: do chemo and have a 30% chance of survival (have the sink thrown at her and go down fighting) or... Treat her symptoms and make her comfortable (give up). Obviously we came to the conclusion that giving up is not an option and we're going to fight with the chemo. His warning was that it will make her feel a lot worse than she already does and the treatment takes weeks to even see results. We are scared, losing hope, and the tears haven't stopped. We thought we were on a good path but it has unfortunately taken a wrong turn. I strongly still believe that my mom will be a walking miracle and come out of this strong. He said this will be like a hurricane, but we are willing to bare the damaging winds and fight through this. We need to surround her with positivity and love, show her she has a reason to fight and to live, not give up and lay down to die. That just isn't even an option to me. She is beautiful and she is strong... Cancer will not win. We will stand together and fight with her. See more

I want to thank everybody who came out to support my mom today at her benefit for everybody who donated food, raffle baskets in gift cards it was so great seeing my mom smile and laugh today and having a good time. I want to say thank you to the Wilton Firehouse for letting us have it there and Uncle Jack and Aunt Shirley for helping getting it. I want to say thank you for Mary for Manning the kitchen and making sure everything ran smoothly you are the best I love you so much... I'd be lost without you girly you did an awesome job today and I couldn't thank you enough. I want to see a big shout-out to Patty and all of her friends who ran the streets to get all those donations and all patties hard work helping me put this fundraiser together. To all the Capone sisters thank you so very much for all the food it was so delicious and to Tina for those beautiful paintings that went so quickly in the raffles I love you so very much. Thank you so much to the DJ Henny black that came and donated his time today for the benefit he was amazing and such a sweet guy and I would highly recommend him for any event his number is 518-961-8310. To my mother-in-law Norma all your help trying to relieve some of the stress from planning this thank you so very much I love you. I'm so very happy that so many people came out today even friends that I have not seen in a very long time to show their support for my mom all my family that came I hope she can now go to New York City and get the care that she needs to fight through this and live a long happy healthy life, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time and enjoys the yummy food love you all so very much and that you from the bottom of my heart for making my mom's day so very special and if you have any pictures or videos please share them See more

I just want to let everyone know the price list for mom's benefit on Sunday. Admission-$10 per person kids 10 and under are free. Just an up date on how our mom is doing, they did an MRI and found a couple spots in her hip that are metastasized. So she will have to go back for radiation so they can hit it hopefully only twice and it will be gone she will be staying in the hospital until radiation treatments are complete and she finishes her antibiotics for her pneumonia. Her appetite has been good and she's been able to keep food and drinks down so that is great news because we need her to get her nutrition back on track. Positive thoughts and prayers have been working miracles for our mom so please continue to pray for her that we can get these spots taken care of quickly so she can start to feel better. thank you everybody for everything you have done and continue to do for her and our family.
