The Katie McBride Foundation wishes you and your family a very Merry Christmas! We are forever grateful for the support we receive to help families in Katie's name and honor. This year, we'd like to especially thank the Sakowich family, who donated the total of the gifts they would normally exchange to the Foundation to help families in need!

Tierney and Justin were born at just 27 weeks in July 2019. They spent 4 months in the NICU with their parents by their side everyday. They were finally able to come home in November 2019. Just 3 months later, both parents, Jeanne and Beau, were on the front lines at @nyulangoneli and @memorialsloankettering as essential healthcare workers during the height of COVID. Jeanne and Beau had to make a difficult decision to have their babies live with relatives in order to protect Justin and Tierney from the virus. This allowed Jeanne and Beau to provide necessary medical help during the COVID crisis. We are happy to report that the family is back together and Justin and Tierney are thriving 1 year olds!

Congratulations to Det. Daniel Byrnes and P.O. Raymond Loughlin on their recent retirement from the NYPD Ceremonial Unit! Both Ray and Dan have volunteered countless times to help the Katie McBride Foundation. They are also pictured here with their fellow New Hyde Park Funeral Home pall bearers.

Congratulations to our friend Dr. Noelle Cutter for being named on Long Island Business News' Power 30 in Healthcare! Dr. Cutter raised funds for the Foundation and ran the NYC Marathon on Team Katie McBride. Read the full list here: https://libn.com/files/2020//Power-30-in-Healthcare-Web.pdf

Amazing! Sophia Barboza, whose sister Payton the Foundation supported in the past, wanted to do a fundraiser for her 10th birthday and wanted to help the Katie McBride Foundation, so we can help others! They are hoping to ring the bell in February around her 4th birthday!

Happy Father’s Day! Join us in welcoming special new additions into our lives and community: Eleanor Rusten (Dad John), Landon Kearns (Dad Evan), Charlotte Costello (Dad Peter), Lilly Depaoli (Dad Mike), and our cousin Emma McBride and her husband over in Ballybay who welcomed little Evie!

Visit facebook.com/billy.keenan.9 for a live event by our friend Billy Keenan tomorrow 6/21 from 2-4pm. He is calling his live event, A Celebration of Life during these trying times. There will be music and song. Billy Keenan is a Fordham graduate, a former avid surfer, a competitive triathlete, a long-time high school teacher and a former US Army paratrooper, as well as the leader of his own wedding band. Billy was tragically paralyzed in a surfing accident and has gone through hell in the last 7 years. Instead of surrendering to the darkness, he has looked toward the light. He’s been giving motivational speeches and is in the process of writing a book. He has appeared on Cardinal Dolan’s Catholic New York Show and he is a true inspiration for all of us.
