The uprisings around the world right now are happening. These institutions were built to continually oppress black and brown people (and other non-black poc). As well as QTBIPOC. If you are pro cop, I am probably not the Massage Therapist for you. This country was founded on racism and was intact looted by the British from Indigenous people. What we need is for this entire system to change. We need to re-evaluate capitalism because it is built on racist values. I currently ...have not been working still. But I have been doing other types of community work. But I encourage my clients and future clients to look up resources on how to unpack your racism and how to be an ally. Hey folks, wanna check in! Hope you are all holding up okay. I know this has been a really rough time and I know many of us have our mental health things. But just know; it’s been really wonderful to see folks actively mutually supporting each other, both fiscally and emotionally. It’s been tough and I deal with a lot of anxiety in my day to day. I’m so grateful to my clients who have been kind, reached out, and prepaid for future sessions. We have rallied to make sure our fr...iends and other folks in the community are eating and having safe shelter. I am trying to organize a rent strike with my neighbors. I really hope everyone does this because we are self quarantining to help slow down the spread of COVID19, but also MANY folks can’t work and or lost their jobs. Which means many of us have zero income coming in. Most folks rent and don’t own our homes. A rent strike is really needed right now. Rent is still going to be owed for the 1st. We need to have our government institute a rent freeze, no back due rent, and freezing the mortgages. Safe housing and shelter is a basic human right. Capitalism is truly the reason for so many issues involving healthcare, housing, and income. Capitalism thrives in racism. We have to change this system. Either way, while the world is changing so fast, and the future will change. Hey Folks, even though I'm fine and have no symptoms, I am going to cancel my schedule for the next 2 weeks. This is in an effort to stop the spread of COVID19. We will see where things are after that time. Hopefully we can slow down this new virus which in turn will give hospitals some relief to not complete run out of vital equipment for those who have severe/ fatal outcomes. Thank you to all my clients and friends who sent me prepays for your sessions! It has helped so mu...ch these last few days. If you are able to, i would greatly appreciate it. ALSO: I am all moved into my new space and plan setting it up with this time off Hope you are doing well in a very turbulent time! Just remember, community is all we have. Check in with friends and loved ones. The emotional exhaustion and anxiety of this situation has everyone on edge. Send memes, play online games together, FaceTime if you can, call old friends, send photos of your animals being cute. Please, if you stocked piled and have extra cleaning products such as hand sanitizer, Lysol, hand soap, and or rubbing alcohol: consider giving it to someone you know doesn’t. Everyone needs to be able to sanitize their spaces without fear that they couldn’t find anything. If you are able to pay any little bit to service workers/ skilled laborers, this would folks greatly. Many of us only get paid when we see our clients.
