Received notice today from NYS: Massage Therapy is permitted to reopen under phase 3 ... June, 16th. However, please be a little more patient ... as I have decided to reopen under phase 4 so I can thoroughly prepare & complete reopening per Covid-NYS requirements. I will start to contact/reschedule all clients cancelled during March, April, & May & then will schedule any new clients/appts.... We are Buffalo-strong and moving together through these tough times! So good to hear WNY can continue forward to reopen under phase 1 tomorrow! Unfortunately, at this time, Licensed Massage Therapists (with/without a MD prescription) are not permitted to reopen. Also, it has not been determined which phase we will be authorized to reopen. By now, I know most of you are anxious to get back on the table or mat. I truly miss seeing all my wonderful clients and providing your ...pain management, rehabilitation, and stretch/recovery therapies. However, when we are permitted to reopen, I have decided to reopen under phase 4. I remain hopeful for healthy phases and feel it is best for your hands-on therapy to allow this time for analysis, how the numbers may impact each phase so all can effectively move forward in the most essential way. We must move to encourage the flow of the body’s lymphatic system which is a vital part of your immune system. The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and nodes to help protect you against infection and disease by transporting and filtering lymph fluid containing antibodies and lymphocytes (good) and bacteria (bad). ... Monday Motivation & Movement Stretching regularly keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Remaining ‘tight’ for too long puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. Be mindful of your body’s limits (should feel good - not painful)... Be especially gentle and cautious with any type of injury.
