As part of the Kepler Academy coursework, participants learn how to build & optimize search and social campaigns by managing real campaigns for small businesses. One of those clients is BetterBody Foods, a health food company that offers better food choices for individuals and families. Students ran a social media campaign to expand brand awareness among audiences with an interest in cooking and fitness. The campaign was a success, bringing new visitors to the BetterBody Foods site and creating opportunities for engagement and conversion. Congratulations to our first class of Kepler Academy graduates! Throughout the 6-week certification program, the group gained an understanding of the digital ecosystem and concepts, completed necessary coursework and job preparation activities, and applied concepts to a live environment. Today Kepler Academy hosted a career panel featuring four speakers from American Express, PepsiCo, Facebook, and SID LEE. They each spoke about their roles and their career path and provided the participants with advice about breaking into the marketing ecosystem. Esther Ladipo encouraged the group to pursue their passions both in and out of work, Eve Rabin gave a glimpse into the corners of media innovation, Brittany Tattnall shared advice on bringing your full authentic self to work, and Claudia Cisero expanded on the breadth of skills that are valuable in the creative space. Thank you all for sharing your experiences with the students as they look toward the next steps in their careers!

This week, Kepler Academy students got real-world experience running social media campaigns for our pro-bono clients like Today is a Good Day, a non-profit that helps families navigate the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience. Beyond classroom training on creating a media plan, selecting target audiences, and creating campaigns, students actually did it and supported a cause that matters.
