As we near the end of Women's History Month, we're proud to feature many of the dynamic and powerful women across our Kepler and Infectious Media teams. We asked our colleagues to describe themselves in three words, and the result is no less than inspiring. #nationalwomensmonth

Exactly a year ago today, Kepler closed our offices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, unsure of when we’d return. Through the uncertainty and losses of the past year, our colleagues showed an amazing ability to adapt. 1. We connected, despite working from home and social distancing. We listened to each other, showed empathy, collaborated and uplifted one another with memes, virtual happy hours, at-home workout tips, and health and wellness resources 2. We picked up new hobbies, ...including baking, painting, gardening, and TikTok and renewed our appreciation for nature 3. We advocated for social change and adopted new business goals with diversity, equity, and inclusion at the core 4. We got married, adopted pets, moved locations, and stayed at home Today, we thank each and every Kepler employee for their resiliency, grace, flexibility, and commitment!

Today, Kepler celebrated International Women's Day with a panel featuring female leaders from Kepler, Infectious Media, and kyu. We discussed challenges women face in the workplace, how women recognize and value their own voices, and how our company can continue to support women and measure progress towards gender equity. The event also kicked off a month-long fundraising initiative celebrating women at Kepler and Infectious Media and supporting Equality Now, a charity focused on creating a just world for women and girls. #IWD2021 #InternationalWomensDay

Last week, we held our first-ever Kepler Hackathon, 24 hours of rapid prototyping where teams developed useful, interesting, and inventive solutions in a friendly competition. 10 teams tackled projects like Social Listening Dashboards, a Slackbot for inclusivity reminders, and a media channel seasonality analysis, and they pitched solutions to colleagues and our executive team for prioritization. Watch out Shark Tank! It was inspiring to see how team members from all departments apply their creative and technical skills, and we can't wait to start rolling out the winning ideas. #keplergroup

For our last #buyblack Friday post, we are highlighting New York City Black-owned restaurants for their delicious fare. We hope you can make a stop or order-in from these businesses as a holiday treat! Urban Vegan Kitchen is one of the best vegan restaurants in the city! They serve comfort food, along with cocktails and mocktails in the center of the West Village charm. Urban Vegan Kitchen opened in 2016 by Pamela Elizabeth and is loved for its generous servings, vibrant atmo...sphere, attentive staff and of course, delicious food. You can also get cool t-shirt merchandise with fun vegan phrases. Don't miss a stop here during the holidays! Island Pops is a dessert shop serving ice cream and popsicles with island-inspired flavors. It was started in 2015 by Khalid Hamid and Shelly Marshall to "bring a homemade taste of the Islands to Brooklyn, NY." They have a wide selection of wonderfully tasty and island authentic flavors that you won't find at other ice cream shops. It's starting to get cold out but we plan on getting our Island Pops as long as possible. These and the businesses featured in previous posts are some of our team's favorites. You can check out the Facebook Gift Guide (link below) for a more comprehensive list of great Black-owned businesses and tune in to the Facebook #BuyBlack Friday show at 11 AM PT today, Nov 27, on the Lift Black Voices hub. #BuyBlack Friday #BuyBlackChallenge https://about.fb.com/giftguide/

We're nearing the holiday season and want to shout out our Windy City favorites. If you're in Chicago, be sure to check out these two Black-owned businesses for your holiday shopping: Semicolon Bookstore is the only Black-owned bookstore in Chicago and is also an art gallery, bridging the world of art and books. Semicolon is owned by DL Mullen, who opened the store with a commitment "to nurturing the connection between literature, art, and the pursuit of knowledge, while also... using the power of words to better their community." The store hosts a free monthly event where Chicago Public Schools students can take home whatever books they'd like. Their goal is to raise literacy rates in Chicago and beyond. We love Semicolon because of its commitment to the community and its diverse variety of authors where you can find best sellers and books about race and social justice, all while in an inspiring and beautiful space. https://www.semicolonchi.com/ Plant Salon in Chicago has it all. You can shop a curated collection of plants, cosmetics, and skincare for you and your home. Nika Vaughan opened Plant Salon to be the perfect place for customers to find tropical house plants while also focusing on their beauty rituals. The store supports independent brands that specialize in natural clay masks, hand soaps, and oils as well. Don't miss a trip to this calming boutique. https://plantsalon.com/ What are your favorite Black-owned businesses? For today's #buyblack Friday post, we are highlighting Black-owned businesses in Pennsylvania whose products we highly recommend as gifts this holiday season. Freedom Apothecary is a holistic beauty and wellness store in Philadelphia dedicated to empowering women. It was founded by two women, Morissa Jenkins and Bonkosi Horn, who sought to "create an inclusive, accessible space for wellness and positive energy." The shop carries high quality toxin-free skincare and beauty pr...oducts from their brand line and from other female-owned brands like Botnia and Noto. Something can be found for anyone, making this store a great one-stop shop for holiday shopping. Harriett's Bookshop is a local bookstore named after Harriett Tubman and celebrates female authors, artists and activists. Located in Philadelphia and owned by Jeannine Cook, the store is a gem in the neighborhood. The space is vibrant, warm and charming in design and has a beautifully curated selection of books. We're big fans and will surely stop by this holiday season. What are your favorite Black-owned businesses?
