What a WONDERFUL first weekend back!! THANK YOU to all who came out to see us! Whether you came to watch one (or in some cases, several!) of our fantastic movies, stopped by simply to purchase our delicious popcorn & cookies you've been missing, or just to say hi & welcome us back, it was a joy to see all of your smiling faces once again!!! We deeply appreciate the support you've shown all year long, & all the love we felt throughout our "Grand Reopening" weekend! ... THANK YOU for being so awesome! See more
To all who celebrate!

Just an update on some of the things we have in mind to get going again https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0hMh1sN2O_8
Hello to all you beautiful people! Just wanted to touch base with everyone as it's been some weeks since our last communication. We'd like to address some of the questions/ suggestions our staff have been seeing on various local pages:... We've not been given any news as to when theaters are able to open. In the meantime we are prepping the inside for our "new normal". (For instance, we will be implementing reserved seating to keep track of proper spacing protocols.) We are taking every step to ensure the safety of YOU & US & when we hear the word "GO" you'll be the first to know! Showing films in an outdoor space would be difficult & not cost effective: 1) Our park is too small to accommodate enough people. Add to that social distancing & it makes the crowd too small to even be called a crowd. 2) Our roof is inaccessible to the public. Getting on & off the roof is not by way of a simple staircase & therefore too dangerous. It has only the one door, meaning no 2nd exit in an emergency. 3) The Overlook Park, for those who don't know, is part of Forest Park which is run by the NYC Parks Department. We would need a permit for any (currently frowned upon) gatherings & to showcase films. Permits are pricey. So are generators, & we'd need one for the Overlook. Take the aforementioned & add to it cancellations due to weather issues, the buying of equipment we'd need to pull it off, & the fact that the current movies are either not being released or are streaming. It makes no sense for us to do anything other than direct our funds & energy into making our REOPENING all you hoped it would be & would expect from us. And, as much as we'd love to open just to sell you our delicious & (we miss them, too!) it all boils down to cost effectiveness. The revenue loss itself is staggering. THANK YOU ALL for caring, for making suggestions, & for supporting us all these years & during these unprecedented times. We are looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces again. And we WILL!
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT......

Happy & safe Independence Day to all!!
Lots of graduations this week. A great big CONGRATULATIONS to the Class of 2020! Who loves Mike Nichols' The Graduate? Soundtrack by our locally born & raised Simon & Garfunkel!... What's your favorite coming of age film? Your favorite soundtrack? See more
To all you awesome guys out there!
We hope you're all staying safe while our city is in phase one of reopening! One step closer to us seeing YOU again! In honor of Flag Day name some movies that have Red, White &/or Blue in the title! Go...
It seems we keep waking up to new realities, doesn't it? So much unrest at the moment. Artists have created some of their best work regarding social injustice, dissent, redemption... Is there a film that really shook you up? Made you uncomfortable? Made you think, & linger in your seat to discuss it with a stranger in the next row?... We've certainly witnessed you do that. Which film(s) did that for you? See more
Memorial Day 2020 Being unable to partake in the festivities this weekend usually brings has left us with a lot of time to contemplate the somber meaning of the "holiday". Let us all remember & honor our fallen heroes, who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. And while we're on the subject of heroes, there are quite a few present day ones during this pandemic, aren't there? From the frontline healthcare workers we cheer for every evening all the way to the kind ...hearted folk who consistently check on neighbors. Bet a hero or 2 or 5 have affected your life in a good way these past 2 months, huh? Or maybe YOU are someone's hero (good on you!) Tell us your stories! Go.....
Did you know National Theatre Live has extended their free streaming services? This one begins today!
