In honor of Genocide Awareness Month, join us for a special conversation with the authors of Voices from Srebrenica: Survivor Narratives of the Bosnian Genocide, who will discuss the practical and ethical challenges of working with heavily traumatized survivors; why it’s crucial to document their lives before, during, and after the war; as well as how and why the tragic lessons of the Holocaust remain relevant. Featuring @Hasan Hasanovi, head of research at the Srebrenica Me...morial Center and himself a genocide survivor, and Ann Petrila, professor of practice and coordinator of Global Initiatives at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. This event is presented in partnership with Rutgers Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights; Holocaust & Humanity Center; Hgi Manhattan; West Point - The U.S. Military Academy; The Harriman Institute at Columbia University; and Yale Genocide Studies Program.
