It’s spicy, it’s messy but at the end it’s all worth it! Starting this Saturday our ‘Crab Masala’ will be available for dining and take out. In our house it’s a perfect fall dish #southindianfood #fallfavorites #eastvillage #crabmasala #messyeating #khiladinyc #nyc #eater #home #cometry

All these people and more are the reason that Khiladi is standing today. When the whole world was scared these guys showed up everyday and worked their ass off! They deserve a break so Khiladi will be closed on Tuesday to safely take a break and say thank you to these work horses! Anyway we will be gone fishing Tuesday and will miss you #stafflove #love #workfamily #khiladiny #gonefishing #theydeserveit #mypeople #happytobewithyou #eastvillage #nyc #everyone #bekind #goodvibes #goodpeople

One year ago today we opened the doors of Khilladi to serve my mom’s recipes and food that i grew up eating. Little did we know what we had in the store for us. We loved serving food to y’all and telling the stories behind them. 6months into it the whole world went upside down and we were trying to understand what it meant to us. We decided we will take it one day at a time since there is no one that can advice on how to work through something like this. I’ve always believed... when something bad happens, something good should follow. We were able to partner with different organizations to collect donations and provide meals to frontline workers. This gave us a purpose when there was so much uncertainty around. Delivering those meals to hospitals during peak COVID was just something i cannot describe! There was so much pain, anguish, uncertainty and injustice happening around and that was harder to deal with than COVID. Iam a woman of color and i thought i knew what it is to be a minority in this country but I was wrong about that until I’ve learned years of oppression and injustice towards black people. I’ve said it then and i will say it now we stand in solidarity with black lives matter movement. I always kept saying Khiladi is not just about food but building a community around it through food. We did feel that when people dropped of flowers, called to check on us, came in to get a meal to show support. As hard and ugly last few months were I wouldn’t want to go through it anywhere else in the world but this neighborhood. We are a family here, people pull through for each other and that is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Grateful is the word I’ll pick to say how we are feeling about today! Grateful to every person, every experience that made today possible. I can go on and on but i’ll say bye for now. Come down say hi and celebrate with us all weekend! Happy birthday Khiladi! -Sruthi #gratitude #greatful #khiladinyc #mamasgirl #eastvillagenyc #alphabetcity #nyc #learning #together #goodvibes #anniversary #thankyou #happybirthday

One year of Khiladi! Growing up Mama K would always cook something traditional and special for any kind of celebrations at home. It only felt right to do the same on eve of Khiladi’s anniversary. In addition to the regular dinner menu, we will also be serving these special dishes all weekend. (Fri-Sun)... Call/Dm to make reservations. You are all part of our journey and we would love to celebrate with you! #anniversary #southindianfood #mamasgirl #ourstory #eastvillagenyc #alphabetcity #celebrate #joinus #love #support
