Responsible for the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, is assisted in the classroom by an assistant teacher. Is responsible for ensuring that all parents, children, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained, in accordance with the NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines. ... Completes all academy and classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, student accident reports, attendance reports. Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings, as requested. Assists and supervises children during all activities. Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise. Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, program, and schedule. Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids / materials for classroom activities. Assists children with meal times and clean-up. Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly. Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas. Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner. Communicates appropriate information to parents; maintains developmental profiles for children. Schedules and conducts parent and teacher conferences throughout the year. Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards. Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel is not available: for example, may answer telephones at front desk. Schedules field trips and speakers for monthly programs as directed by management.

Good Afternoon KA Families and Hicksville community. It's friday which means #FBF (Flash Back Friday)! we are so excited to share with everyone our favorite week in January, International week! Our children love learning about different countries and their cultures. We love celebrating each other and that's what that week was all about. We would also love to share how well our Acts of Kindness Week is going. Our children and staff have been sharing their acts of kindness in many different ways. whether its opening a door for a stranger or giving clothes to the less fortunate. Every act is appreciated. Let's keep it going!

In January, the theme of our Character Essentials curriculum was We Get Along. We focused on ways students can work toward getting along with others in a group. We shared our tips for teaching young kids about acceptance and getting along with others on our blog.

We at Kiddie Academy of Hicksville, are so excited for Random Acts of Kindness week. We encourage our children to be kind at all times and that's what this week is all about kindness. Hello Everybody! Here at Kiddie Academy of Hicksville we celebrated our campers various talents. We decided to have a talent show in which campers performed in front of an audience. Check out their skills and talents and encourage your child to find their talents.

Kiddie Academy of Hicksville is introducing FULL - DAY Kindergarten program & FULL - DAY School Age program for school year starting September 2020.

Being responsible means being dependable, keeping promises, and honoring your commitments. When one is responsible, one shows independence and diligence when carrying out tasks and making decisions. Our Character Essentials theme for May was We are responsible. Children in our classrooms learn all about how responsibility shows independence and conscientiousness.
