THE CURE FOR 'I'M BORED!: 25 kits are available for tomorrow. THESE ARE DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN 4+. THEY CONTAIN SOME SMALL PARTS. CHILDREN UNDER AGE 4 NEED ADULT SUPERVISION.
For those who might have missed the Eiffel Tower class...here you go! This is a simplified version but I've attached a more difficult and detailed sketch for those who might want one more challenge in these challenging times!
A quartet of great art: Sofia drew and watercolored a Taj Mahal with a beautiful pink sky...lovely! Her mom watercolored a detailed Big Ben...so nice to see parental participation! Patrick also illustrated Big Ben and used crayons to color in. Fantastic! James drew a Roblox avatar, also using crayons. Looks amazing! Thanks everyone!
Harrison illustrated the Taj Mahal using the step-by-step lessons published here. Then, using watercolors, he amazingly brought this famous monument in India to life. Beautifully done!
One more Big Ben...this one by Nicco! Jolly good job!
Happy Wednesday....last night we received two more art submissions. Matthew illustrated Big Ben using markers...dramatic and detailed and love the addition of Westminster Abby in black shadow! Norah watercolored the Taj Mahal.... looks glowing in this precisely detailed illustration. Great job! Keep your artwork coming...it's making everyone happy!
Two 'Big Ben's' were submitted today: one in pencil from Natalia, the other watercolor from Sofia, both fantastic! Glad to see that we are still drawing and painting....great to take a break from home school.! Thanks ladies!
Attached please find a step-by-step worksheet of the Taj Mahal. This lesson completes the winter session (certainly not as planned!) but I'll be posting the entire winter season for those who were entitled to makeup classes. Also, I have small watercolor sets and watercolor paper for everyone in the classes. You can pick up if you'd like at my home at 421 Edinboro Road 10306. Each package will have a new watercolor set (not the bigger ones from the studio), a new paintbrush a...nd watercolor paper. You can illustrate and paint the Taj Mahal using these materials. There will be a box on my doorstep tomorrow and for a few days afterwards. I'll take it in at night but you're free to stop by and help yourself. I hope you all do! We're working on a way to do the spring classes electronically and will let you know as soon as we're ready to proceed. Hope you and your families are all well and that we can get through this crisis and back to normal ASAP!

Lets make a chameleon! Kids Art Draw in pencil (not sharpie like me-i did it in sharpie so you can see it better) Step 1: towards the left side of your paper draw a sideways letter v. This is the chameleons head to don't make it too small. I broke it into two lines on mine as you can see. ... Step 2: His/her back is rounded. Start at the top point of the sideways v and start to curve up towards to top of the paper. As if you were making a hill. Then continue to curved line down towards the bottom of the paper and start to draw the line in the other direction towards the start of the head. Step 3: make a curvy/curly tail- at the end of the curl you are going to follow the shape of and draw it up to make the tail look complete. Step 4: draw a straight line to connect the line from the tail to the bottom part of the sideways v. Step 5: go back to the head- add a big circle on top of his/her head for the eye- erase the line that is running through. Add a mouth and if your want a tongue coming out add that too! I maybe he is eating a fly! (If your chameleon has eye lashes add those as well). Make any type of line (straight, curly, squiggle, zig zag right behind the eye on his body so it breaks up the head and body. Step 6: on top of him/her add pointy connecting mountains that run all the way down his back Step 7: add some tree branches. You want to make sure the tree branch is sitting right under his body so that it looks like he is laying on it. You can add more branches on your page if you want. Add lots of big leaves - everywhere! Step 8: color or paint your back ground - use a light color. Step 9: pick a solid color for his/ her head and a different color for the eye. Step 10: this is where you can have some creative freedom! Design your chameleon any way you like! Use lots of different colors! Add stripes, polka dots, zig zags, straight lines, squiggles- this is your chameleon so anything you do is right! Step 11: color in your tree branches and leaves Always use black at the end for details and any outlining that you want to do. You can add detail inside the leaves and some thin lines on the branch Step 12: post your work below!
These are the instructions for one of the winter classes that some have requested: The Lincoln Memorial! The original art showed the building in the snow but hopefully those days are behind us. Give it a try. Use pencil, sharpie afterwards if you prefer and then color in using watercolor, markers or crayons. Send me your art and I can put on Facebook. Hope everyone is well!
Natalia completed her drawing of the Taj Mahal. She used crayons and a paper towel to get this amazing soft effect...an inventive and creative use of a simple set of crayons!
