I hope this message finds you all well. As a healthcare provider, it is frustrating that I am unable to help people in the ways I know how to at this time. I would love to donate supplies to those who need it the most in order to stay safe, but due to the nature of my practice, when I don’t work, I don’t earn money and I need to be cautious in order to continue to provide for my family. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out some way in which I can give back to all... of the amazing people who are on the front lines of this pandemic, both by choice and by necessity. It finally came to me last night. I would like to offer a free acupuncture treatment to any and all Essential Workers of course once it is safe to do so. There are no strings attached. Just an hour of time that may at least temporarily help you feel better and let you be taken care of. This is for delivery workers, sanitation, food service, cashiers, and of course medical staff and personnel, etc. Please share this message with anyone you know who may benefit from this. My plan is to compile a list of all names and either emails or cell numbers and I will contact each person directly once I am able to safely re-open my office. Please be safe and take good care. Spent a few hours in "the blue room" cleaning everything and updating. I miss my work so much but it felt great to be in this space being productive. Hi again everyone, With the continued progress of this virus as well as the order for "non-essential" businesses to close, I have made the difficult decision to close the office for the time being. I have tried to reach out to all patients who are scheduled for the coming weeks, but if I have missed you, please consider this your notification. I have taken the utmost care in disinfecting the space here and keeping it as safe as possible for the patients who have come up unti...l closing. To my knowledge, NONE of my patients have been symptomatic or tested positive, I have not become symptomatic and neither have any of my family members, thank goodness (knocking on wood, etc.) I will still be available via text, phone or email to answer any questions you have or offer whatever help I am able to. Please stick to reliable sources for your information like the CDC (http:www.cdc.gov) Some of you have asked how to offer support during this time. I have gift certificates available for purchase and you can do so electronically without having to leave your home. I am happy to mail the certificates. They can be shared among family members and have no expiration date, so if you do not have insurance coverage and you know you'll be coming in anyway, this would be a great savings to you and a great help to me and my family at this time. Yes, I am still seeing patients. I am evaluating whether to stay open on a day to day basis, with whatever scientific information is released. As a patient, you can help by coming to your appointment on time, Do not come early. And if you bring someone with you, please have them wait in the car. I am keeping the waiting area empty. I have ample Clorox wipes, alcohol swabs, and Lysol. I have removed linens from the tables and am cleaning the entire table and all surface...s between every patient. I am disinfecting all doorknobs between patients. I am thoroughly washing my hands every single time I walk out of the room. That said, if you have fever, if you THINK you may have been exposed to the virus, if you are feeling ill at all - PLEASE cancel your appointment and reschedule when things are safer. While all the precautions are being strictly followed, I would still rather you all adhere to a "better safe than sorry" protocol. As a colleague said, acupuncturists offer a valuable service. We are able to reduce stress in these trying times, we are able to ease anxieties. We are potentially able to help people stay calmer and more level-headed and not require Western medical intervention in today's landscape when medical personnel are being stretched incredibly thin. Amidst today’s climate, I felt it necessary to post about office precautions. In addition to always wiping beds and face cradles with alcohol between every patient, I am now disinfecting doorknobs between each patient and keeping the outside door open to circulate fresh air. If you have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath... Feel free to reschedule your appointment. That said, there's no reason to panic about getting your treatment. Acupuncture can help keep your immune... system strong so if you ARE exposed at a later date, you may have better internal ammo to fight off the icky. Above all, wishing everyone strength and CALM during these bizarre times. Be kind, tolerant and informed by reliable sources. And wash your hands
