Passing "Under the Rod" Psalm 23:1-6 & Peter :24-25

Our hearts break with our sisters and brothers in India who are experiencing horrific COVID-19 case numbers, deaths, and lack of access to medical care. As many of us in the U.S. and Canada begin to venture back out post-vaccination, please continue to pray for our partners around the world where COVID-19 is surging. Please pray for the following for India: 1. Pray for front line healthcare workers to remain strong and encouraged as they treat the ill. 2. Pray for India's ...government leaders. Pray they will be humble and seek solutions to bring infection numbers down. 3. Pray for the staff of our partners--that they will remain safe and able to extend help when needed. 4. Pray for pastors and mission workers that have been severely affected. 5. Pray for families who have lost loved ones. The virus has left many children as orphans and many others widowed. 6. Pray for migrants and daily-wage laborers as most of them have untold miseries. 7. Pray for millions of people who either lost jobs or are likely to lose them again due to this second wave of COVID-19. 8. Pray for a timely supply of medical oxygen and vaccines. 9. Pray for stigmatized communities. Medical aid hardly reaches them and they often suffer in silence. 10. Pray that people will be educated and stay safe at all times. 127 years ago, Ida Scudder witnessed the deaths of three expecting mothers. Mortified that there wasn't the aide needed for these women, she returned to the U.S.... from India to study medicine so she could return to help. Today, RCA Global Mission is partnering with The Scudder Association Foundation , and the Vellore CMC Foundation to carry on Ida's legacy and build an Emergency Maternal, Obstetric, and Neonatal Care Hospital (in the Veerapanoor village) to support the medical needs of women during their child-bearing years and those of their newborns. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Or is it? We usually think of December as an exciting time. Christmas is right around the corner, memories are made... and decorations are plentiful. But this year Christmas may feel different... Mourning a loved one who won’t be with you this Christmas Battling feelings of loneliness as you long for community... Missing your family who lives far away Trying to figure out what this season looks like at the end of a long and tiring year Oh friend, we get it. This time of year may not feel as bright and cheery as we expect. But in the midst of the difficult emotions and memories that come with this season, we can hold tightly to the truth that the birth of Christ means there is hope in even the darkest of situations. John 1:4-5 says, In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. God’s light shines brighter than the darkness we face. This December, let’s remind ourselves of these truths: Because of Jesus, we aren’t alone. (Matthew 1:23) Because of Jesus, we are loved completely. (John 3:16) Because of Jesus, we can experience peace. (Luke 2:14) His light shines brightly, even in the darkest of circumstances. What truth are you reminding yourself of this season? We are cheering you on!

Greetings Kinderhook Reformed Church Family and Friends, You are invited to set aside a few moments to join with the KRC Elders and find encouragement and blessing in today's devotional.... In His Time Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional, Oct 23, 2020 God moves in His timing, not yours. He is never late, but He’s usually not early either. He’s often the God of the midnight hourHe sometimes waits until the last possible second before He gives you what you need. Before He intervenes on your behalf, He has to be sure you’re not going to take matters into your own hands and do something out of His perfect timing. We all need to learn to trust God’s timing, but first our tendency to try to make things happen on our own timetable have to be broken so that He’s free to work His will in our life and circumstances. I want to encourage you: If you’re waiting for something, set aside your own plan and thoughts of how it might happen. Trust God and believe that while you’re waiting for your breakthrough, He’s doing a good work in you that will bring a beautiful harvest later on. Prayer Starter: Father, please help me trust You more with the timing of the dreams, prayers and hopes that have been in my heart for so long. Thank You that You’re working to bring about Your plan for me, which is so much better than mine. In Jesus’ name, amen.
