@kcardone25 #BehindTheCustom For Christmas everyone wanted to chip in for a ring that would have all the grandkids birthstones on it. Something special and not typical. We had two sapphire babies so we went with two different tone sapphires so they weren't exactly. Set in 14kt yellow gold, this ring isn't for a regular grandma but a COOL grandma. Stones are as follows: Emerald, sapphire, aquamarine, moonstone, diamond, sapphire.

Reno and upgrade! Left large blue sapphire oval was the original engagement ring, and the diamonds in the band are original of the wedding band. We recycled these to make an entirely new set with a beautiful new oval diamond sitting center with sapphires and emeralds.

#BehindTheCustom with @kellyanne925 This one is extra special because Kelly and I have been friends for the last 18 years Kelly wanted a ring that would represent her 3 children and would incorporate diamonds from her late mothers wedding band. Her mom, herself and her first born where all September babies. So we made the sapphire large to represent 3 generations. The trillion and the half moon represent her 2nd and 3rd born and the diamonds on the band were the single cut diamonds from her mothers wedding band. Today I get to share my birthday with her 3rd born. Can't wait to meet baby #3.

#BehindTheCustom with @shane_e_boots + @leda_atomika Shane and Mika, came for an inquiry on a custom engagement ring. Mika had a bunch of ideas. Shane and I discussed them with her and then he can back to design the specifics of the ring with me. This is my favorite way of doing custom. The ring is still a surprise when the proposal happens, but we'll both be confident in nailing the design. The center sapphire ranges in color from dark evergreen, lime green, to teal and to... chartreuse. Which is wild! When Mika showed us the array of sapphire colors I knew we'd find one that was one of those- but to find one that changes as much as this one does in different types of lighten and angles checked so many color boxes! I need to say this because usually when I find something extraordinary right off the bat, people find it "too easy" and sometimes pass on the first stone to "see what else is available" and I totally get that. But luckily because Mika voiced what she liked Shane was every bit confident to hop on this stone and thank God he did because the sapphire market is competitive because each one is slightly different from the next and you have to hop on a stone if you love the color. After securing the stone we got the ring done in time for the holidays. I'll let Mika tell the rest: How did you meet? Shane and I are a third time’s the charm scenario. We met in college - we were in the same art class - and we dated briefly until he broke up with me and I dramatically zinged a perfume bottle past his stupid (my perception and I stand by it) head as he walked away. We were very young and wild then. ;) We again briefly reunited in our twenties when we were both in NYC and had some fun times but neither of us were taking relationships very seriously then either. But thanks to social media we stayed in touch and once in a while we’d comment on each other’s posts as our lives drastically changed and we matured. I moved back to the States about 8 years ago from China and moved upstate instead of going back to NYC. Shane had stayed in NYC but was looking for a change out of his career and out of the city.
