Meanwhile, in #Persia its roots went back into deep #antiquity as a sage. Its greatest #cameo arguably is in the early 13th century #Sufi #epic by Farid Al-Din Al-Attar, the Conference of the Birds: 30 birds led by Al-Hodhod travel up the tallest mountain to seek the Simurgh and the #meaningoflife.
