Just a Reminder
Today kicks off the statewide No Empty Chair Campaign which will take place through Friday, April 23rd. This campaign is focused on educating teen drivers in s...chool settings regarding safe operation of their vehicles. Additionally, law enforcement increases enforcement of vehicle and traffic laws relating to young drivers during this time. Please remind your young drivers to drive safely, to monitor their speeds, to stay off their phones, to not drive impaired by drugs or alcohol and to have all passengers in their vehicles seat belted. The safety of our firefighters and public safety are of most importance to the members of the Kirkville Fire Company. As you approach some of our emergency scenes you may notice some of our newly acquired equipment laying across the the roadways. The Kirkville Fire Company recently purchased Speed Bumps to be deployed by Kirkville Fire Company’s Fire Police. When our firefighters are engaged in an emergency, there is an increased risk of injury by drivers who are distrac...ted by the scene of an emergency, or they ocassionally approach the scene at an unsafe speed. Unknowingly, you may be placing our firefighters or other emergency responders at risk to their safety as you drive past an accident or the scene of a fire. The Fire Police may place speed bumps on the highway to induce you to slow down when you drive past the scene of an emergency. By reducing your speed, you provide a margin of safety for the emergency responders and yourself. - Kirkville Fire Company- ( Pictured below Fire Police member Dave Bender)

CAN WE FIND YOU? OUR NEW HOUSE NUMBER SIGNS ARE SHOWING UP ALL OVER TOWN and in neighboring departments too! If your house number is not clearly legible, we may have trouble finding you in the event of an emergency call, especially at night or in inclement weather. The Kirkville Fire Company is now selling house number signs that are legible, reflective, visible from either direction, and mountable on the appropriate side of the street (particularly important if your mailbox... is across the street). We encourage all Kirkville Fire District residents to purchase one of these signs for $20 including mounting post. We'll even install it for you! If you're interested in purchasing one of these signs for your home or business, and you are located within our Fire District then please send us an email to [email protected] Www.Kirkvillefire.com Non-District residents: If you don't live in our Fire District, that's okay just fill out the address form and send it in by mail with your payment. Once we recieve your form and payment your address sign will be made with in a couple of weeks. Once your sign is completed, one of our members will contact you either by email or by phone to set up a date and time the we can meet you. We drill on Monday evenings so we normally try to make arraigments for those times. Thank you for your support of our program.
