Friday morning at the start of the storm, I saw smoke blowing past the window from inside the house.... at first I thought it was fog...nope, it was from the shop....Cheap battery in the Makita charge set off a box of dry rags, then the oil in the compressor leaked out and the tires burned until the fire ran out of oxygen. There is soot on everything in the shop , even inside the cabinets and drawers. Fortunately, I only lost a handful of cordless tools and smaller stuff on the desk and shelves like router bits and chisels. The fire was out when the FD arrived and they were, thankfully, considerate about their use of water. Now for the Ins Co and what they might cover...... Watch out for cheap batteries and put all your chargers where they won't cause something like this ! The warning on Lithium batteries is real...

Steaming and bending the back posts of the chair I am making from green White Oak. They'll dry and set for a week. Hand split and shaped with a draw knife on the shaving horse.
