Our first Ashokan KlezKamp is now over and what an uplifting, inspiring and motivating time it was. Thanks to our wonderful pioneering attendees, the staff at A...shokan, to the wonderful directors Jay Ungar and Molly Mason for making this all possible and to the astounding KlezKamp faculty: Mark Rubin, Cookie Segelstein, Alex Kontorovich, Joshua Horowitz, Avia Moore. If you missed it, there is good news: we can now bill it as "The First Annual KlezKamp at Ashokan" as we now have dates for our second program July 29-August 2, 2019. Set the dates aside and join us. L'shona habo b'KlezKamp! ("Next Year at KlezKamp!") Over the next few days, I'll be sharing some of the many photos and videos of this historic event. Here is the staff band playing a medley of tunes from our beloved friend and teacher the late German Goldenshteyn. See more

Ashokan KlezKamp is just over a month away and there is growing excitement about our historic gathering. Hope you are planning to join us. What follows is the preview article which ran last March in the Yiddish Forwards as processed through Google translate. (http://yiddish.forward.com//a-new-klezkamp-this-time-in-s/) Four years ago, Sapozhnik, the founder of "Klezkemp," said the "Forward" that the festival was no longer necessary because other Klezmer populations had dr...opped its place. Not all in the beliefs were agreed - they felt "a hole" during the winter and, therefore, a reindeer musician, who has been involved in the "Klezkemp" for a long time, has established the new festival of Jewish New York . Now, four years later, Henny Sopozhnikon said that "Klezkemp" will resurrect the resurrection in the summer, though it will be scarce. The new "Klezkemp" will take place from Sunday, July 29 until Thursday, August 2 at the Ashhakan Opera House in Ketzskilberg. The program will include workshops and classrooms for violin, acordon spell, clarinet master, bass player and singer. It has been established that the teacher will be the playwright, Koko Slechstein, the Akordon and Zimbabwe spokesman Joshua Hovovich, the clarinet spokesman Kontorowych, the author, Avie Moore, the bass masterpiece Rubin and Ahron Ahrin Hibizan Sapozhnik alone. For the sake of supposedly, the festival at the "Ashhakan" -oprudent center was to return home. He was introduced to establishing "Klezkemp" while participating in a similar program for traditional american music. "Ashhokan" has long been known for its festive celebrations of various musical traditions. The price for the new "Kleczkemp" is $ 635 for adults, $ 530 for young people (13-25) and $ 425 for children aged 5-12. There are also submissions for young people.
