Seek Immediate Support: Ask bystanders for support or intervention. 5. Seek Emotional Support: Once you feel safe, take time to recover and reach out to someone to talk about what happened. Remember this is not your fault, and you are not alone. . . 5 Ways to Help If You Witness Hate 1. Take Action: Approach the targeted person, introduce yourself, and offer support. 2. Actively Listen: Ask before taking any actions and respect the targeted person’s wishes. Monitor the situation if needed. 3. Ignore Attacker: Using your discretion, attempt to calm the situation by using your voice, body language, or distractions. 4. Accompany: If the situation escalates, invite the targeted person to join you in leaving. 5. Offer Emotional Support: Help the targeted person by asking how they’re feeling. Happy International Women’s Day ! . I’ve always known that I wanted to forge my own path for my career. In founding my own boutique aesthetics practice, I’ve been able to create a space where people can feel like themselves again - and that’s where I find my fulfillment. Nearly 30 business improvement districts (BIDs), neighborhood associations, and merchants’ groups from NYC’s five boroughs are coming together in March to honor Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. Their focus is women-owned small businesses in the city, which have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. . New Yorkers can participate in the campaign by taking a photo of a woman small business owner in front of her business and addressing the question: What makes you a small business wonder woman? Then post the photo and caption on social media with the hashtag #smallbusinesswonderwomen ! . We hope you haven’t suffered sickness or loss and are staying safe, healthy, and as joyful as possible! We have been working hard to ensure the safety of our patients and staff throughout the past months. While we have had to make tough decisions, our wonderful staff members and you, our patients, have adapted with grace. As a firm believer in the importance of public health, the tension between owning/running an independent small business and prioritizing community safety has been painful. With the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community in mind and in heart, we have made the difficult decision to close temporarily over the holidays, typically our busiest season. Our main concern is for our staff and our patients, as we see the COVID-19 numbers rise and worry about commutes and exposures - especially after holiday gatherings. We plan to reopen Wednesday January 6th, 2021. (Dates subject to change per government order/safety guidelines.)
