While the high school was remote Sra. Apelanz’s Spanish 5 class was taught how to make empanadas from her mother-in-law, who is from Argentina. Her husband Ilde...fonso talked to them about mate, a traditional drink in Argentina and its customs. Jorgelina walked the students through the process step-by-step, allowing them to learn how to make them as well as practice their Spanish comprehension. Because the class was remote, many students were able to follow along and make their own empanadas during the cooking lesson. You can see some of the finished products here. #AP_EveryStudentEveryDay
