The Ladybug Playhouse Nursery School

The Caterpillar Class wrapped up another awesome unit, Blast Off to Space!! We made planetary art, sponge painted a galaxy, and designed a rocket!! We worked on the number 14, the letter Z z, designed rockets with shape blocks, and sorted planets by size and color!! We also enjoyed story time with a secret reader!! We can hardly wait to see what we are learning next month!

The butterfly class is leaving winter behind

The Caterpillar Class is having an out of this world time with our space unit!!! We have learned about the stars, sun, moon, and planets with fun crafts and art projects, as well as with counting games and puzzles!! We also had St. Paddy’s fun and we have been listening to our secret reader’s favorite stories!!!

It’s a wonderful day to play outside

Happy birthday Dr. Seuss!!! The Caterpillar Class enjoyed celebrating Dr. Seuss and literacy this week!! We worked on patterns, counting, tracing, and cutting. We also made special Dr. Seuss themed crafts and listened to our favorite Seuss books!! We ended the week with a special visit from our favorite music man!!!!

The Caterpillar Class wrapped up another fun and amazing unit, It’s a Small World, learning about the different cultures and wonders around the world!! This week we made mountain goat headbands, a noodle version of Machu Picchu, waterfall art, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa!! We learned the letter Q q, and reviewed the number 12, color purple, and the heart shape!!!

The Caterpillar Class had a wonderful week learning about different cultural market place items, such as masks, carpets, and kites. We also started to learn about natural wonders of the world, like the Grand Canyon and Victoria Falls! We also had some Valentine’s fun, and we said what we would change if we were the President!!! We learned the letter K k, the number 12, the color purple, and the heart shape!!! Happy Valentine’s Day from the Caterpillar Class!!

The Dragonflies had a wonderful short week! We practiced beginning sounds for letter Ll and made silly sentences with our new sight word look. We enjoyed painting with legos and making lollipops! We traveled to a new country for enrichment! We are very excited to learn about the Chinese culture!

The Caterpillar Class started a new unit this week, It’s a Small World, learning about our planet, the continents, and the different cultures!! We started this week off making suitcases to prepare for our trip! We also made globes from imprints of the backside of a plate, and we made wallets for our currency! We learned the letter G g and the number 11 this week. A snow storm didn’t stop us from having fun learning and creating!!!

We had an awesome time learning about dinosaurs this month in the Caterpillar Class!! This week we learned about Pangea, and created our own Pangea with puffy paint. We also talked about Jurassic period plants, excavations, and extinction. We made fern plants, volcanoes, and a museum collage!! We even made a dinosaur parade with our fun dino counters!!!

The Caterpillar Class had another dino-mite week, learning the letter V, number 10, and dinosaurs!! This week we concentrated on dinosaur bones and skeletons, as well as excavation and paleontologists!!! We are loving our dinosaur unit!!!!

The Caterpillar Class continued their unit on dinosaurs, and we had a blast making dino eggs, dino headbands, and dino prints!! We also traced our names, the letter E, and the number 9!!! Today we commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a biographical story about him, and the great work he did for Civil Rights!!!
