Lake is excited to have another project nearing completion with our longtime friend and client Dan Queri who has played an incredible role in reshaping downtown Syracuse. The mixed use project on North Salina Street will house a commercial space on the first floor and two unique artist lofts above, we are happy to help bring Queri Development's vision to life and revitalize an aging building for its new purpose. Local projects always have a special place in our heart and we look forward to the upgraded building transitioning into use!

Here at Lake we have been taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather to host safe meetings outdoors whenever possible in order to continue to serve our clients and meet project goals. Client satisfaction is of the utmost importance and we pride ourselves in going above and beyond expectations to make the process as fun, safe, and productive as possible.

Now more than ever we are spending time in our homes The pandemic has forced us all to take a step back and rethink our priorities, in the process putting focus on healthy spaces and safe contact with others, while still fulfilling our professional obligations. It has offered a more intimate look into each other’s lives and homes, creating a strong personal bond between employees and clients that goes far beyond a handshake. We are seeing pets, significant others, home dé...cor all helping us better understand each other and our preferences. As the world is calibrating to the new normal, many are realizing what does, and does not function at their current residence or workplace. We have completed several new residences, additions, educational, and industrial projects this summer incorporating amenities that cater to extremely functional, flexible, healthy spaces. Lake is committed to continuing to shape the physical world around us for the better and whatever tomorrow brings know Lake will be there to help with your architectural needs.

During this difficult time Lake Architectural is working remotely to continue to meet our clients needs. We are excited to announce Lake's 15th Anniversary! Today we are taking some time reflect on our wide range of past projects and position ourselves for the future. Lake is excited to be involved in the rehabilitation and re-branding of a large existing shopping center. The project consists of removing an existing big box tenant to make way for a hotel and new restaurant and entertainment tenants. In addition to the new mall tenants, the site will be modified with additional out parcels to create a more diverse and pleasant shopping experience. The site improvements include large outdoor spaces for markets and events, areas of seating, and will activate the previously unused lot. We look forward to construction starting soon!

As the summer progresses, we are watching the Near West Side Initiative Theater come to life. After extensive demolition and structural reinforcement, we were able to open up a once two level areas of the Case Supply building to accommodate a theater and art gallery. This is in addition to the tenants and apartments we have had the pleasure of working on in the building, creating a truly unique mixed use project. The construction should be completed by this fall and we are looking forward to the opening performance.

This summer we were able to revisit a project recently completed and now occupied and in use. The transformation of the 800 Clinton Warehouse into universally designed luxury apartments was an extensive one, Lake had the pleasure of designing the alterations and additions and we are very happy with how the project turned out.

Here are some highlights from Milan Design week... New York studio Snarkitecture and Caesarstone created the installation Altered States which explored the different states of water. "Future Space" by Peter Pichler Architecture is a symmetrical structure that proposes timber as a sustainable future material as well as offering various spatial experiences. Google’s software curated by Li Edelkoort, featured some of their latest hardware in everyday "soft" settings.
