A good reminder and why we have recently been asking numerous people to stay off the ice on Mirror Lake. No ice is safe ice.

Just a reminder, there is no official trick-or-treating on Main Street this year, but check out some of the outdoor Halloween movie offerings in the tri-lakes, including right here in Lake Placid (co-sponsored by the Lake Placid Police Department).
The Lake Placid Police Department mourns the loss of Chief Horace Pratt, who served the Village of Lake Placid as a Police Officer for 29 years. Chief Pratt was in office during the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. #1980winterolympics #RIP
We would like the public to be aware that we have received a complaint from a local business in reference to counterfeit bills being passed as real currency. Here is an example of one of the bills that you can see is marked as "FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY". Watch out for these bills and please contact us if you encounter one. We have seen 5, 10 and 20 denominations.
A reminder that there will be a scheduled power outage tonight
