MR CUOMO BOWLING An industry that the pandemic is on the verge of crippling. There are thousands of jobs throughout the state that are in jeopardy. People hav...e their life savings and years of work either gone or in extreme jeopardy. Our seniors loosing there meeting places for comoderie and exercise. Our youth loosing their fun place that they spend time with family and friends. Some do it for fun. Some do it to get better for their high school careers. Some for their chances for college scholarships. BOWLING centers are for FAMILIES, from lil ones to grand parents. Birthday parties and fund raisers. A staple in my 62 years of living. Friends meet 2 to 3 times a week to share GOOD STUFF. WE, as owners, players no matter what level of bowler we are . We are reaching out to you sir. We are reaching for direction. Other states have opened with STRONG RULES in place for the safety of all their patrons. Masks, social distancing , plenty of sanitizer to keep everyone safe as we enjoy the sport we love. MR CUOMO , we need your help in making this happen. Our industry is in dire needs. Many bowling centers have closed already with owners loosing their lives savings. Their employees with no jobs in area. Their customers leaving the game of bowling forever. If the centers dont open , bowling as we know it will be gone forever. Please give this some attention. The bowling industry is counting on you. SAMMY VENTURA LIFETIME BOWLER. See more

Essential and Charities rant! Other reasons to open up Bowling Centers in New York! Recently, there has been a few posts on social media asking if bowling cente...rs are essential. I would like to share a different prospective, as a series of questions that people and political leaders may not realize why I think we are essential. We may not be essential in the sense that bowling centers are entertainment, but I think bowling centers are essential in other ways.. Do the 9 thousand people who work for bowling centers that are out of a job think bowling is essential? Do the suppliers in the bowling industry and their employees think bowling is essential? Do the 300 plus bowling centers owners in NY state think bowling is essential? Do the people in your town who ask for donations to raise awareness for their charities think bowling is essential? Does Bowlers to Veterans Link, which raises over a million dollars a year and over 50 million to date for our veterans from bowlers think bowling is essential? Does the millions of dollars that are raised from bowling center tournaments/fundraisers like Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake, The American Cancer Society, MS, Autism, Ronald Mc Donald House, Food Banks, Children's Hospitals, Special Olympics, Paws and hundreds of others that try to find cures, better and save lives think bowling is essential? Does the family of a bowling center community that lost a loved or one that is battling for their life, has a fundraiser for medical bills or a funeral, think bowling centers are essential? Do youth bowlers and their family who bowl in tournaments, leagues and can win and apply for thousands of dollars of scholarships locally, state, and nationally to better their education think bowling is essential? I can go on about how bowling centers and their bowlers give back to their communities. That's what we do, probably better than any other industry, and we're proud of it! We have a plan to make sure that our employees and our customers will be safe as humanly possible. We want to hear from the governor what his policies are and when we can open. The not knowing when we can open is the scariest part. We are linked to other business that we shouldn't be! Dare I say it will be safer coming to a bowling center than going to a big box store, grocery shopping, or other types of indoor businesses that are open! Bowlmor has over 180 centers open across the country without incident. I have not heard of any other privately owned centers have any issues either. Proprietors and friends, please contact the charities that participate in fundraisers at your center and ask for their help too! Send pictures of your events to NY governments and how much you raised. Every bit helps! Please keep contacting Governor Cuomo, senators and assemblymen in your area to kindly ask them to help open us open up or we will permanently see centers closing! Remember, we along with other business have been closed for over 4 months and the bleeding must stop! Sorry for the long rant! Randy Hanks Oak Orchard Bowl

I really needed a strike, but I left a 7-10 split. NYS has extended the shut down till at least May 15th. Not what any of us wanted. But, I remind myself that many have it it much worse than I. I am closing the LSL for the season. One of the best parts of owning the bowling alley is I get to meet so many people from every walk of life. Every time I have a problem there is always a bowler who has been able to help me. With that spirit in mind, if anyone is struggling and needs help remember your LSL family and I’m sure we can help. Better days will come and can’t wait to spend them with all of you in one packed bowling alley!!! Hope to see you all in September!!!
