Lakeview Community Church ROC 02.05.2021

As we enter into the most important weekend of the Christian year, let the story of Christ's suffering, death and resurrection supplant your normal routines. Let God's story become your story. To help with this, we are offering multiple worship opportunities for you to remember Christ's death and celebrate his resurrection: Any time on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday, you are invited to worship God through our at-home liturgy, which is attached to this email. There are two wa...ys to do this liturgy: In Option 1, you can read the entire story of Christ's passion in one sitting. In Option 2, you can read the different parts of Christ's passion as they happened throughout Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. For Easter Sunday, you are invited to join us for either an outdoor service at 8:30 AM, or a Zoom service at 10 AM. (The Zoom link is the same one as every week)

The Library Committee has been at work the past few weeks buying new books and arranging them in a bookcase placed in the Narthex, near the new sofa and chairs. We purchased some great books and now they are available and easy to reach.... Some of the titles are: Forgetting What You Can’t Forget by Lysa Tirkeurst; The Shelter of God’s Promises by Sheila Walsh; Grace Intervention by Bill Giovannetti; and many more. You are welcome to help yourself to these books now, or when church reopens. There is a clipboard on the bookcase where you can sign the books out with the title, your name, and the date. These cold days until spring arrives are great for curling up with a good bookone of God’s many blessings! Enjoy! The Library Committee

Announcement: Resuming In-person Meetings At Lakeview Dear Lakeview Family, On behalf of the Consistory of Lakeview Community Church, I have the following exciting announcement:... As Covid-19 daily case counts continue to drop rapidly in Monroe County, the consistory has decided to resume in-person meetings at Lakeview with a maximum of 30 people, in the fellowship hall, masked, socially distanced, and with surfaces wiped down for disinfecting after each meeting. Thank you for your cooperation in observing these guidelines. The consistory will continue to prayerfully discern when and how we will resume in-person Sunday worship. We will be sure to keep the congregation informed about our decisions. One personal note: Joanna and I have learned that, if I test positive for Covid-19 before our baby is born, Joanna will have to labor in the hospital without me. If Joanna tests positive, she will have restricted support during labor, besides the complications that could occur from giving birth with Covid. For this reason, I (Pastor Steven) am still avoiding in-person contact until delivery, which we expect will be very soon. Of course, I am still available by phone, texting, email, and Zoom! Please feel free to stay in touch, and I earnestly look forward to when we can talk in person again. Thank you, everyone, for your patience as your consistory has worked by email and Zoom. You are all welcome to contact anyone on consistory with any questions or input you have about our reopening process. May God's Spirit richly bless us in this Lenten season. In Christ, Pastor Steven and the Consistory of Lakeview Community Church Pastor Steven Rodriguez Lakeview Community Church 30 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14612 (585) 227-4910 [email protected]

Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf: February Focus: Canned pasta and canned baked beans. With the colder weather, we are no longer able to leave food outside but rather need to bring it inside. If possible, please bring the food to the church on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00 PM and ring the bell. Thanks so much for your generosity. Hats, Mittens, & Socks Trunk As we head into the cold weather of February and March, please remember that hats, mittens, scarves, and socks are still needed by some members of our community; the most needed item is socks. Thank you for continuing to fill the trunk.
