It's back! Christmas in the Village!
Late winter snow today in Lakewood. Wet and sloppy but it is melting fast and spring can't be far behind! History has shown that winter doesn't last!! Just some history humor.

The Lakewood Fallfest is Sunday! Come on down to Chautauqua Avenue and enjoy the day! 12 to 5 PM!
In the 1920s and 1930s ice skating on the lake at the foot of Pennsylvania Avenue, adjoining the Yacht Club property, was a popular winter recreation. Lakewood hosted the New York State High School Skating Meet in 1928 and 1931. Local skaters were among the state champions. This original photograph is mounted on a small board alongside a companion image.

Lakewood has a wonderful museum which is often overlooked by visitors. The museum is located in the Village Hall on Summit Ave. Loads of parking available too.
