The District vote and election via absentee ballot has been extended by Executive Order through June 16, 2020 at 5 PM. Ballots will be accepted via hand delivery through today, June 9, 2020 at 5 PM. Ballots will be accepted by mail through June 16, 2020 at 5 PM. The meeting of the Board of Education scheduled for tonight, June 9, 2020, to accept the results of the annual budget/proposition/trustee vote has been postponed to Tuesday, June 16,2020.
The annual budget hearing is just a few days away. The presentation of the budget and bus propositions is Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:00 pm via videoconference. Information on the proposed budget can be found on the district's website under the Board of Education tab.
The annual budget newsletter was mailed early last week to all district residences and absentee ballots were mailed at the end of the week to qualified voters. Keep your eye on your mailbox for both.
The proposed 2020-21 $114.5 million dollar spending plan was approved by the Board of Education on Monday, 5/11/20. Check the district website as more details are loaded over the next couple of weeks.

NYS has released a new process and timeline for school budget votes. The vote will be held on 6/9/20, completely through absentee ballot. Further information will be sent to households and posted to the district website. At the regular session of the Board of Education this Monday, 5/11/20, a brief overview of the final draft budget will be provided. The annual budget hearing will be held on 6/1/20 via videoconferencing.... Information on the adjusted budget vote process and updates to board meeting dates and times is ever evolving. Please check the district's website frequently for the most updated information.
In Executive Order 202.13, the Governor postponed school budget vote and board elections to no sooner than June 1. "at least June 1 subject to further directives". At this time, districts await further instructions on a new vote date, new procedural deadlines, and the method in which the vote will be held. The arrangements will be set forth by NYS and they will be standard across all NYS school districts.
Due to several unknowns with respect to the 20-21 budget process, we are postponing the budget work session scheduled for April 6, 2020. Once we have some solid information, we will set a new date and move forward from there. Updates will be provided via the district website, in the Lancaster Bee, and the district social media sites, when available.
The second budget work session will be held tonight, February 24th, at 6:30 pm in the Central Avenue Elementary Board Room. The agenda will include a review of the tax cap calculation, staffing requests, and the initial draft of the full instructional and BOCES budget sections. Materials for tonight's meeting are available on the district website.
The next 2020-21 budget work session will be Monday, February 24, at 6:30 pm at the Central Avenue Elementary School Board room. The agenda will include a walk through of the 2020-21 tax cap calculation along with a review of the initial instructional, special education, technology, and BOCES services budgets.

Dependent on the release of the Governor's state aid proposal, initial state aid revenue estimates may also be discussed.
