We build walls to last! Here’s a look at the first few courses of a SRW (segmental retaining wall) we did a couple years ago. Soil separation, geogrid, drainage stone and pipe. Geogrid was necessary due to the height of the wall. Notice the amount of drainage stone behind the wall! That stone continued to the top of the last course. We’ve done a bunch of shed pads this year and here’s one we did over the weekend. This one is for a 10x20 shed. We excavate 6-8, install soil separation fabric and compact runner crush in 2 lifts. Today we came back to a land clearing job we did recently to grade out the area with screened topsoil, spread grass seed and create a cool little spot! We used all the boulders from the property and brought in #2 round Poland stone.
