The Mobile Food Pantry sponsored by the Hunger Task Force distributed food to around a hundred households this afternoon. Our volunteers handed out approximately: 150 pounds of bread, 400 pounds of frozen potato soup, 350 pounds of assorted frozen meats, 364 pounds of Chobani yogurt, 750 butternut squash, and 1,000 pounds of apples. Many thanks to our volunteers pictured below from left to right: Sheila Lahey, Melinda Lehman, Peter Pozo (Food Bank's Mobile Pantry Coordinator)..., Daisy Leno, Kristian Leno, Sabrina Fiddelman, and Agathe Berder Tomotsugu. Not pictured: Jill Robertson and Martina Stoekhert. Big thanks to Richard Slingerland, Mamaroneck Village Manager, for making the street space available and Zoe Colon of the Hispanic Resource center and Dina Reynoso of the Mamaroneck Avenue School for helping to get the word out to the community.
The Rotary Club of Larchmont was on hand at last week's food pantry distribution to distribute nearly 1000 books for people of all ages. Thank you to this wonderful group for their generosity!
Thank you to Drew, Cate, Catherine and Tori for your hard work and generous donations!
Magnificent veggies! Thank you to Mamaroneck School District students, for growing and harvesting mountains of fresh garden vegetables for us! Hommocks teacher Betty Comerford spearheads this endeavor. Kudos to all involved.
Look at Larchmont's Temple's cereal collection!! Thank you!! Donated cereal is so popular - it is expensive for us and our clients appreciate the variety you all donate.
A big thank you to the Partnership, whose members donated coffee and tea to our 60 homebound seniors to help keep them warm in these frigid conditions. To find out how you can help by donating a specific item of food each month to our homebound seniors click on the Partnership link on our website, www.LMFoodPantry.org
See how you can help our neighbors in need!

Thank you to the legions of volunteers and donors who made this Thanksgiving a delicious and heart warming day for so many in Larchmont and Mamaroneck.
What's cooking? Homemade pies! 35 of the pantry's families received an extra treat this thanksgiving: pies baked by the Larchmont Temple 3 and 4 year old classes.
Operation Thanksgiving begins this weekend at area grocery stores where food pantry volunteers will appeal to shoppers to buy some extra canned goods and Thanksgiving fare for their neighbors in need.
Food Pantry Needs Volunteers for Holiday Food Drive: Attention families, friends, teams and troops! The Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force needs volunteers for our annual holiday food drive. The drive will take place on November 22 and 23 at the Stop & Shop in Larchmont and the A&P in Mamaroneck, from 9am to 4:30 pm both days. Volunteers collect, sort and load food onto trucks. Shifts are only 90 minutes. Volunteers are also needed to unload and sort collected food on Monday morning, November 24, at the CAP Center, 134 Center Avenue, Mamaroneck. To volunteer, please email Joan Capaldi at [email protected].
This past month, the Partnership collected oatmeal for the food pantry. For more information about the partnership, go to www.LMFoodPantry.org.
