The introduction of a new love was unearth...ing and triggering old wounds. In her book #traumaandtheunboundbody @judithblackstone speaks to the restrictions or kinks in your receptivity hose caused by traumatic events. By inhabiting your body fully and completely, you can feel safe to be open to life, to be receptive. You can take back the power of agency that may have been lost when you were overpowered by other people or by devastating events...You can feel grounded, rooted to the earth, so you are not easily unsettled. In our phone session, I asked my client to close her eyes and take 3 deep breaths, then we moved through an Inhabitating the Body meditation, bringing both awareness and inhabitance to her physical, emotional, and mental states as laid out in Judith’s book. We noted areas where different somatic experiences (tingling, tightening, aching, pains) occurred, bringing awareness to those parts to release old traumas, like fear of abandonment and lack of self-worth. In her heart chakra, we noticed acute tenderness and sadness, released by crying. Healing our wounds can be a slow and challenging process, but by becoming embodied and inhabiting the space around us, our auric sphere, we are unbound and free to receive the gifts the universe is bestowing on us constantly.
