These last few months of 2012 have been at times wonderful, challenging, hectic and rewarding. Here's to another year of achieving our goals together! In the words of a very wise man (my old high school principal), "let's be careful out there." And, if things get too crazy, you know who to call!

Just toured a client's apartment in Canarsie, now more than a month post-Sandy. The destruction and disruption of normal daily life in that area is incredible. Is anyone else still having trouble obtaining basic repairs and/or new housing?

Hopefully everyone made it through the storm okay and life is returning to a sense of normalcy. Unfortunately, however, many New Yorkers continue to struggle. I wanted to make you all aware of the New York Bar Association's program, through its Lawyer Referral Service, to connect hurricane victims in need of legal assistance with an appropriate attorney. The NYSBA Lawyer Referral and Information Service has created a dedicated number (1-800-699-5636) for people in need of... help, and is currently recruiting attorneys to provide free telephone consultations to individuals affected by the storm. I have volunteered to assist with the program, and will be providing free legal consultations on landlord-tenant law and other matters as the residents of our fair city get back on their feet.
