A Dig in and Have Fun Plant Night for those who help assist our elderly population with their every day needs! It was our first time seeing this beautiful facility. There is a great need for Assisted Living Facilities on Staten Island and seeing a wonderful facility like this on our Island is great to see!

Thank you Walter Ochoa and Tony Aguilar from Right at Home In Home Care & Assistance for coming to our office today to provide training on Alzheimer’s Disease and the impact it has on the individual as well as the family and caretakers. Walter provided an amazing presentation about the how’s and why’s of the disease as well as giving some of us first hand experience with what it feels like to have Alzheimer’s. The items we are wearing in the attached photos helped us to exp...erience the anxiety and frustration someone with Alzheimer’s experiences when the perception of your whole world changes so dramatically from this devastating disease. While wearing the glasses which were modified to simulate poor yellow tinted vision and macular degeneration, headphones playing static and murmuring voices, and gloves to dull tactile sensation we tried to accomplish tasks given to us and they were nearly impossible to complete due to lack of being able to effectively communicate and understand the directions due to the impediments of the simulation gear. Today was truly an eye opening experience for our team. We know this will help us to better service our clients needs as we better understand the impact of this disease on the individual and their loved ones. See more

Our view from the window of our St George office has significantly changed with the coming of the Empire Outlet Mall. We can no longer see the Manhattan skyline but it will be wonderful to see the influx of commerce when the mall opens.
